Highlands 85 Scott 60

This game started at 6:00 because the Freshman & JV games were played yesterday. 

The Scott High Eagles played host to the Highlands Bluebirds, and played them one good half. 

Scott game out ready to play, and traded buckets with the Birds the 1st quarter with the period ending Highlands 21 Scott 19. 

In the 2nd period Highlands took a slight edge at first, but then the Eagles came flying back looking like they wanted it more, getting all the loose balls, and owning the boards and ending the 1st half ahead 33-31.

Scott must’ve thought that they had won because when the 3rd period began they needed a bit of a swift kick to get started for now their passes were lazy and getting stolen by the Birds who had come out of the locker room a whole lot more feisty than they had gone into it. They immediately began cashing in on Eagle turnovers winning this quarter 29-16, with the Birds ahead 60-49. The only thing that was really keeping the Eagles respectably in reach was that they were hitting a healthy portion of their free throws in this quarter. 

Just as soon as the 4th period began the writing was on the wall. The Birds kept up their full court pressure, increasingly putting the once 11 point lead further and further out of reach, and ultimately winning 85-60

54-27 in the second half will certainly get it done.

Scott seems to never come out to warm up and shoot after halftime. Locker room right to the floor, Maybe the reason they always start slow in the 3rd Qtr of games. Also Scott seems to get some momentum going and then they slow it down and back off.

I think I have this right, I saw it but I am not able to share it, he went straight down the lane for a two handed monster dunk.

I remember a Parent of a past player that shopped their kid around NKY until they found the best fit, say to the coaches at Highlands......What do you guys see in that Skinny kid anyway??? Well, he's now one of the best players in the State of Ky. And his name is Sam Vinson! That's what they saw.....

Two nice dunks. Vinson is an incredible player. Cameron Patterson for Scott also had two highlight dunks as well. One if traffic in the first half and another off the backboard in the 4th quarter. Note sure how to share them. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Sam is a special talent and not only a leader but makes everybody else better!  Lastly kid works on his game.
