I think you got 17 Time and RP mixed up.

 

The response I gave did mention RP and not 17 Time in post #160, but the information given was intended as a response to all who had previously asked why the stadium was constructed in the manner which it was constructed. There is an awful lot of good information in this thread which will answer many questions if one takes the time to review it. No one is intentionally trying to be defensive, but the problem with the parking requirement and the MSD retention basin has been brought up numerous times, and I was hoping to be non-repetitive.

That's what the administration is preparing for. They're bringing in portable concession locations for the crowd. I know a good number of people that are planning to come in from out of state to the opening game, so I hope there are more than 9,000. Better get there early!

 

As Ox said, your questions have been answered (several times in some instances), so try rereading the thread if you have any more questions or comments (I'd love to hear how "stupid" the stadium looks one more time... ).

 

1st of all - I never said the stadium looked stupid - what I said was I can't speak for the administration but have to believe Trinity could have made the visitor side smaller and the home side larger - but it would look stupid if you were trying to build a "state of the art facility".

 

As far as Oxnard's explantion to Rockpride in previous post - You explained the thought process on how you got 5000 seats on the home side and tried to explain the small amount of seats on visitor side based on your current competition being weak on a regular basis. I have to believe X will start scheduling different competition in the near future and they could bring different crowds - ie Montgomery Bell, Bowling Green, Cincy St. X, Lex Cath. etc.

 

My point is if there was a mistake made in planning - just say "we wish we had more seats on the Visitor side but had planning/easement issues"

 

St. X is a fabulous organization from top to bottom and the facility will be one of the tops in the region if not the country. Congratulations to our Catholic Brothers. I am done on this subject. I hope to attend the opening game and cheer you on against our dear friends from Ballard. :dancingpa

Actually, you better go get your tickets right now if you want a chair back seat. The chair back seats will be reserved for the first two home games of the year. They went on sale last week and it's my understanding from an inside source they are going very quickly.

Wouldn't that be funny.... Scalping tickets for the St. X home opener.... You got to love the enthusiasm of the St. X and local communities. I really doubt that "scalping" will happen, but I would not be surprised that it is a "sellout" and some are turned away due to fire code etc...

It will be interesting to see what the cut-off point is for individual game ticket sales.

Anyone have some details for the opening game other than opponent and game time??? Just wondering how X intends to open the new stadium. I would think that it would be a big gig for all the alumni, students and administration etc.

A lot of good ideas have been proposed and are currently being evaluated, but nothing is ready for release as yet. Whatever ends up coming out of the box, I'm sure will be quite special and memorable for all who attend. We will only walk this way one time. :thumb:

Opening night of the St.X home football stadium is something I have dreamed of for more years than I care to reveal. It will be very special no matter what is planned.

I have suggested thay all former lettermen in attendance be allowed on the field for openning ceremonies, since for all of us it is our first home game. Plus think of the reaction in the stands when future Tigers see Dads, Grandparents, uncles cousins, brothers, etc. on the field and the tradition it brings.

I think it'd be great if the former players formed a tunnel, oldest alumni to youngest, for the players to run though. I think it'd be very meaningful to have the old lead to the present.
