I love Coach Warner‘s passion.  This is a blue blood program in Kentucky.  I hope he finds the formula.  I know it’s a tall order, given the demographics of Boone Co, but, I wish him the best.

I agree on Coach Warner's passion, he is a million percent in at Boone County.

A lot of young talent on that team.

No Ryle?   As to be a first since Ryle opened or shortly after.

I don't see the Raiders on there but I do think this is a great schedule for Boone.

Surprised to see no Ryle on the schedule, that has always been a good rivalry.

Does Ryle want to play them? Playing down in class is RPI hit.

Boone cancelled the game. it was originally on the schedule and Ryle even reworked their schedule to play.

Boone needs to do what is best for Boone. They can always add Ryle when the programs are on a more even footing.

Probably not but it is a county rivalry that was very heated for many years. Just sad to see it not happening,

I hear what you're saying about old rivalries. Unfortunately, there are rivalries that do die. Some have the chance to be resurrected. Cov Cath vs. Boone County is THE oldest rivalry Cov Cath has (Boone was one of only two NKY teams willing to schedule Cov Cath in its first year), but it really isn't the rivalry it once was. Cov Cath and New Cath used to be a big NKY rivalry since there were more than 30 years where those two were the only two football teams from Catholic schools in the area. New Cath and Highlands used to be a really big NKY rivalry as county rivals, but I don't think those two have played in like 20 years or more.

Ryle has beaten Boone County the last 10 times they've played by a combined score of 393-69. That means they've averaged a 39-7 win over Boone for about a decade. Now that it's back to being a non-district game, I can't blame Boone County at all for deciding not to schedule Ryle, just like I wouldn't blame Ryle for taking Boone County out of their schedule.

Boone County vs. Ryle Complete Series Record:
1992: Boone 12-7
1993: Did Not Play
1994: Did Not Play
1995: Boone 34-14

2003: Boone County 42-14
2004: Boone County 38-28
2005: Ryle 40-22
2006: Boone County 34-33
2007: Boone County 30-24
2007: Boone County 27-17 (Playoffs)
2008: Boone County 28-14
2009: Ryle 48-7
2010: Ryle 42-21

It does suck that they are not playing Ryle, since they are in the same district and many kids know each other. Rivalries are always great, so it would be good for the district to have more competitive games, if they get better. The big question is if they can get back on more even footing as you say, because they really aren’t on even footing with anyone in the Boone County district currently.

So I get the easier scheduling, because it is important to try to build some confidence in the program. Especially since the last two years, they haven’t really shown much, if any progress and if you go by points scored the offense has actually seemed to regress some the last two years from where it was 3 years ago with their previous staff. So scheduling down some to try to get more wins, would help gain more confidence and help the program. So it makes sense, but It still sucks not seeing Ryle on the schedule though.

So I guess the question is with them playing an easier non conference schedule. How many wins would they have to get next year, for it to be considered a positive step for their program and progressing?

More than they lose.

Even with the easier non district schedule, I am not sure if that happens. First five games of the year should be competitive though. Early prediction 3 and 7.
