Hendo aims to tame and saddle Mustangs a second time

In Week 7, Henderson County leaned on its defense to keep McCracken County at bay for a 21-14 win. The seven point margin was all that separated two evenly matched teams that night. A single yard was the difference in total offense between the two teams, according to Hendo's stat keeping.

The Colonels and Mustangs had to survive first round scares to get here. Henderson County watched a 35 point lead evaporate against Daviess County, before holding on for a 49-42 win. McCracken's star running back, Hunter Bradley, breathed life into a dormant Mustangs offense in the second half against Apollo to help them escape, 21-13. All signs point toward a four quarter, edge of your seat battle for the District 1 championship.

Henderson at home, Apollo had MC on the ropes and save 2 "calls" would have beat them.  Henderson has a very similar offense to Apollo.  I think this could go either way, but I'll take Hendo at home with the QB going crazy for 150+ rushing.

Henderson 28-21

Just as a side note to this unfortunate turn of events: Henderson County's boys soccer team won the 2nd Region last month but had to quarantine due to Covid cases on their team and was unable to participate in the state tournament. Bum luck all around.

Stinks all around! Hate it for them!

When one team has to cancel because of COVID  -  not a mutual decision  -  in the playoffs, does the advancing team get credit for a win, for example, if going in its record was 6-1, does it then become 7-1?    Likewise, does the cancelling team get an "L"?

I don’t think so. I think just advance. Not totally for sure though.

In the first round one team was simply removed from the bracket and the advancing team appeared to have a bye. It would appear based on the 3A bracket with Belfry and Lawrence County that for the second round and further teams will be credited with a forfeit victory.
