Johnson Central is a great program for sure and rolling right now. In the last 3 heading toward 4 complete seasons they have only lost 4 games. 2 of those loses are from Franklin Simpson. One is from Belfry. The last is Ashland.

Five championship games in a row, with two titles ('16 and '19).

Ashland's resume is as good or better than anyone else's in 3A. Travelling a few hours from home on short notice and winning by 35 on Log Mountain is something a #1 team would do.

Unfortunately they may not get to play another regular season game unless they can work something out with Pikeville and West Carter.

They were really fortunate to be able to work something out with Bell County on such short notice for both schools. They only traveled with 40 players (about half of the team) due to nit being able to secure enough busses on such short notice.

As for the game itself I haven't had a chance to watch the film yet but it seems like Bell County moved the ball fairly well but Ashland's defense stepped up on third down plays and forced some turnovers. They also kept Pittman in check for the first two and a half quarters, but Ashland has enough team speed and other threats to break long runs to just key in on one player and walk away with a win.

I knew the Spring Valley game was unlikely, but is the finale against Boyd County in jeopardy too?

I think Boyd and Rowan are making up their game on November 6.

Ashland is looking good but Etown is also !!

After checking Boyd's schedule, it appears you're right. The KHSAA scoreboard has been a little confusing to follow this season.

Yeah, teams add games but don't always remove them. It's a shame that rivalry won't get played, but the Boyd/Rowan game will likely determine who gets a home playoff game so I can understand completely why they would want to get it played.

Would love to see Ashland pick up Pikeville/Paintsville this week.
