Is Old Hickory the rival of Moonlight?

It seems like this game will replace the DeSales game. Not that St. X did DeSales a favor, but it feels like the 3 game series was more of a series to relive the "old days" for the athletic department and football staff. Plus, as stated earlier DeSales doesn't do much for the RPI. I can see BG/St. X continuing their series as long as the series stays competitive as it is now, which I don't see why the competition level would drop off any time soon.

@LongTimeReader  Old Hickory has the better BBQ - especially Mutton (Lamb) and Sliced Pork (Boston Butt).  If you want a buffet head to Moonlite - good veggies, macaroni, mashed potatoes, burgoo, etc.  But @Purple88 has it right, if you want some great BBQ it's Old Hickory and it's within a mile of Rash Stadium right off Frederica (the main drag).

As I've been told, Old Hickory is where more locals go.  Moonlight is more famous, as people like President Clinton and other dignitaries have dined there before.  It is a good place to go.  But being about 1 mile from Rash Stadium is a big benefit for me coming from Louisville when time could be an issue.  And there's a reason more locals go there IMO.

Am thankful for the X-BG series, gotta keep that going!  Would like to see them extend it into JV and Frosh ball too, but understand travel issues, although both send their teams a decent distance to get games.

Now can we get BG back on the O schedule too!  Sorry to threadjack, but miss that game (and now the JV and Frosh game too)!  I know scheduling is tough now, but there's a reason Owensboro and BG have played so many games.  It's because they are great competition for one another and close in proximity and size.  Need to make that happen.

Great job by OHS to add St X to their schedule.  I'll be interested to see if there are more changes coming in 2021.

As for Moonlite vs Old Hickory...... there is no debate.  Its Old Hickory and its not close.  Moonlite does have a great buffet spread with some tremendous deserts but if were going pound for pound BBQ buffets, i'd even go Ole South over Moonlite.  Old Hickory is the best BBQ you're going to find anywhere.

“Pound for pound BBQ’

???

As a local I will agree Old Hickory is way better than Moonlite, especially if your just wanting BBQ.  I'm never really that impressed with the meats at Moonlite.  I normally only go with people from out of town and on those instances I find myself filling up on the sides which are normally very good and saving room for desert.  Moonlite has a wonderful buttermilk pie (I'm not aware of anyplace else that serves this) and their coconut cream pie and banana pudding are great as well.

This thread has me ready to eat my weight in bbq and pie. ?

You all are killing me, lol.
