Highlands beat Ryle 47-32 on December 3rd.

 

Simon Kenton beat Holmes 49-32 on January 9th.

To your latter point, no doubt, he is a stud athlete, has been for many years, and I'm sure he will be a HUGE part of Beechwood's program over the next 3 years. Has always seemed like a nice young man, to boot.

 

The kid is a flat out CLOSER. In the Tigers' JV win over a very good Conner team last week, Boyd scored a game-high 26 points and had 9-11 points in the 4th quarter. As has been said by many, correctly, he has "it". Once he gains some confidence playing with the big boys, he could be a tremendous addition to the rotation down the stretch.

 

And, I will also attest, great kid from a great family. One of those kids you would want your son to be like.

Had a friend text me and say that Highlands was 19-25 from the line with 19 fouls called against Ryle and 8 against Highlands. She said the "refs in this area love Highlands." I guess the further teams go in this tournament, the tougher the officiating gets? Ryle fans were none too pleased with the refs.

I've always felt it was more like "everyone in this area likes to find a reason to hate Highlands".

I think a bunch of teams use Freshman kids that play JV and even get some varsity time for freshman tourney.

Happens every year. I have no problem with it, if your good why not play on all three teams during the season or just for the tourneys.

I haven't seen Chandler Starks suiting up in any Freshmen tourney games, nor have I seen Conner use Hamilton or Campbell in their Freshmen Tourney games. To each their own, I guess.
