Why can't "tweeners" typically make it in the league? They can't guard anyone can they? I've been to several NBA games and the speed, even in the regular season, is VERY fast. Yes I honestly think they play hard on defense. They don't play the same way. An easy shot in the NBA is an easy shot. You don't see the "hard" (intentionals) because in the NBA they're against the rules. The NBA protects it's players/investments.

First of all, I don't buy that NBA players don't play defense, but supposing it is true, think about that statement. Even if they don't play as hard as college players as you say, the defense is still better because it's a superior athlete playing it.

 

If an NBA team gives a 75% effort on defense, that is superior to 95% of the defenses that Chris Lofton faces at the college level. And that is a conservative estimate.

Steve Nash doesn't have the size but definetly has the heart of a lion. I believe he is back to back league MVP.

Chris has still been guarded by players with the skills to play in the NBA. He will also develop as a player in the next year and a half and get bigger, stronger, and faster. He will only get better. The question was will he be an NBA player. I think he will be. I don't know for how long or how successful he will be, but I think he will be on an NBA roster and play in an NBA game before his career is over. Thats what I am trying to say.

I've stood next to Chris on many occasions. He is in the 6'1" to 6'2" range; as was virtually everyone else on the Mason County state final teams of '03 and '04.

 

My guess is that he will make an NBA roster and be a role player; not necessarily a starter but someone who can come off the bench and give a spark on the offensive end.
