Jumpman4004 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Congratulations to Maddie Scherr on this great accomplishment!!!
The Double Deuce Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 HUGE!!!!! So happy for she and her great family.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 5 McDonald's All-Americans in one class going to Oregon...wow!
Getslow Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 That table has Hailey Van Lith as undecided. She signed her letter of intent to play for Louisville back in November.
NEERFAN Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Is she the first MAA from NKY Walz would be the only other NKY player with a legit shot but I don't recall her being MAA and not sure if they selected girls in the mid 90s.

Southerboy Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 There was no McDonalds for girls when Walz played. Walz played in the equivalent girls National all star game at the time. 2002 was first girls game for McDonald’s so Maddie is the first NKY. She is the fifth ever from Kentucky. Hard to compare Jaime and Maddie, different type of players from different eras of basketball. Have seen both play. I’m a big Maddie fan, I would think this solidified Maddie as one of the top two players ever from NKY? Only three other Miss Basketballs correct? Walz, Moss and Donna Murphy. Am I missing anyone?

Erica Hallman, I believe.

Shame on me, I also forgot Katie Schweggman at Brossart.
The Double Deuce Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Just double checked, they are all mentioned now: 5 NKY Miss Basketball Winners (and 3 [if we include Pendleton Co.] Mr. Basketball Winners). So excited for Maddie, she is an amazing player, but such a great role model to young players, and so willing to help and reach out to the next generation of NKY female hoopers! She is leaving behind quite a legacy in Union (and NKY).
