Hasn't St. Henry been a thorn in the Colonels side in year's past?

When the game is played at St. H, the Crusaders prevail. CCH handles them at home, although I'm not sure that would have been the case tonight.

Most on here seem to think that Coach Faust is above all of his coaching peers in the 9th Region. Why is that? He does seem to do a decent job, but he won the region with a really good team, but other than that have they really had that great of success?

No offense to the boys at St. Henry but often times he is left with a team that is either undersized, not too deep, plagued by inexperience, or all 3. Yet each night he keeps games close, no matter who they are playing.

First on Jordan Griffin, I hear that he either has dislocated or fractured his elbow. They don't know exactly yet, but it seemed very bad at the game. You hate to see a medical squad at any sporting event. I wish J-Bird the best of luck, he's hard working kid who has had some bad luck the past 2 years.

 

Also it very classy to see Bondick showing his concern for Jordan, while both teams were called to the bench he made sure he could see if he was okay and tell the Griffin family he was deeply sorry and it wasn't intentional. The call might have been correct but the actions weren't intentional.

 

If this game did anything hopefully it gave St. Henry the confidence they need to know they can play with anyone in the region and beat anyone in the region.

 

I still believe the difference in this ball game was St. Henry had 9 seniors and CCH only had 1, Jacobs.

 

The Jacobs vs. Lenhof battle was just about even. Neither player played thier best but both showed why they are two of the best players in the area.

 

Big props out to Tanner Ives who had people in th crowd asking "who is that kid?" He scored 12 points off the bench including 2 huge 3pters and 2 monster clutch FT in the final minutes. Tyler Feldhaus and Tanner also played some great defense that lead to some easy baskets for the CRU.

 

I'm sure CCH will bounce right back. If this game did anything positive for them it gave the underclassmen some good exerience in a close game.

 

The last 6 games between CCH and SHDHS have gone 3-3. Both teams have one at home each time.

The sad part is that this is not, does not need to be 'single player dominated'...there's plenty of players there.

I bet if you ask TO (The official that called the foul on Bondick when Griffin went down), he didn't call an intentional foul. I believe he called an excessively physical foul (the crossed arms signal is the same for both... I believe). It doesn't make any difference because the penalty is the same. However, it gives a way for the officials to penalize even if the player is going for the ball, to prevent physical play of this nature. I haven't talked to TO, but I don't think he called it intentional. He probably went with excessive.

 

I think the Bondick kid is a classy kid as are the majority of the CCH players. Coach Listerman demands it. On the other hand, I know they were emotional, but I think some of the nasty comments that were yelled at Bondick by St. Henry parents were quite inappropriate.

 

This was a much bigger win for St. Henry than it was a loss for Cov Cath. Congratulations to Coach Faust and the players.

And they had a little help by the refs.

Congrats to St. H and especially coach Faust, I am beyond impressed everytime I watch one of his teams. If you were at the game 2 years ago when they beat a VERY good CCH team with much less talent it was obvious his ability. His teams do not make big mistakes, they are extremely fundemental: good passing, don't turn it over, rebound well, etc. etc. While as a CCH fan I don't like to see our boys lose it could'nt be by a better coach and kids when it's St. Henry.

I agree with that,yelling at a player for having a bad foul is ridicolous.

Supposedly Jordan Griffin went into shock on the court which probably caused all the comotion. Is thier truth to this.

Rather lackluster against a A foe, it's obvious that we have become a BIG game for St. Henry and Faust's boys come to play

When I shattered my arm (4 operations ago) I went into walking shock (felt no pain, tried to keep playing, etc.) -- I don't think it's too uncommon with bad breaks.

I actually just talked to Jordan. He is doin fine. Their is good and bad news. Bad news is he has dislocated his elbow but he says the good news is he only supposed to be out 4-6 weeks. It won't be the whole season. A dislocation is much better than a fracture. And to his benefit he is left handed and it is his right elbow that was injured. So that will give it more rest.

 

He said he did flip out and thought he was going to pass out because when he looked down at his arm it was basically hanging. Thats why the lifesquad was called.

 

As for th St. Henry fans that were being rude, I think they just go caught up in the emotion of the game and the play. By the end of the game everyone in that gym knew the play wasn't dirty or intentional. Bondick is good kid and going to be a good player for CCH the next two season. Jordan even said to me he knew Bondick was just playing hard and wouldn't expect anything differently.

 

Thats says a lot about these two teams and this rivalry. This is the way a rivalry should be. Both teams had great representation from the student bodies. Both were pretty respectable with their cheers. And the players and coaches have the utmost respect for each other on and off the court. A lot of this has to do with both teams playing together or against each other wherever it maybe in the summer and offseason. Why must other rivalries get so out of control???

 

My last point is this?

CCH has many rivalries because like Highlands everyone wants to beat them and this is why CCH and Highlands is the best rivalry in NKY. But my question is this. Does CCH look past St. Henry? Does Listerman give them the respect they deserve?
