It was an interesting development today when the Panthers hired Baylor's Matt Rhule as their new Head Coach. It was believed the Panthers were very interested in Josh McDaniels and Kevin Stefanski. The Giants and Browns also registered interest in those two coaches. But with the Giants asking to interview fired Cowboys' coach Jason Garrett, the picture is getting jumbled.

McDaniels was supposed to interview with the Panthers today. So, it seems McDaniels is down to two options. The New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns. Of course, he can stay put in New England until Belichick decides to retire and have a shot at becoming the Patriots replacement for BB.

What do you think? Where will he land? I've mentioned 3 options, perhaps you have a fourth.

And now it is down to Browns or stay with Patriots. I don't see him going to the Browns.

I think he is getting a dose of medicine here for what he did to the Colts. Many organizations likely feel he cannot be trusted.

I think one of the reasons for him backing out of the Colts job was the assurance that he would get first shot at the Patriots gig once Hoodie retires. I don't see him going anywhere.

If they felt that way they would have never lined him up to even interview. He has fallen victim to teams fining their guy that they love before he even gets the chance to interview.

Biggest question: can he instill the Patriot culture where he lands, if he does?? Sometimes the fit just isn't right. The Patriot's HC made a couple stops before his tenure in Foxborough.

It doesn't seem like McDaniel is in high demand. Wherever he goes I hope he fails miserably, again.

McDaniels could be the best candidate available at this time because of his years in New England running the offense, but he also has the most question marks in my mind. His record as a HC in Denver was 8-8 in his first season and 3-9 in his second season when he was fired following the 12th game of the season. But that was 10 years ago.

The other troubling sign is the way he backed out of the Colts HC job to stay at New England after the Colts had announced his hiring. I think that may be what has kept him from getting hired or even interviewed by some other teams.

But he has a ton of experience with a very successful NFL offense. He has been on the Patriots staff since 2001, with the exception of three years when he was in Denver and with the Rams. Eleven of his years with the Patriots he has been OC and QBs Coach. So, why did the Giants choose Joe Judge, also of the Patriots, over McDaniels? This leaves me scratching my head.

Also, don't forget why McDaniels was let go in Denver. It was partly performance based, but the nail in the coffin was when he got caught filming the 49ers walk-through in London (sound familiar?).

From what I've read he alienated everyone. The guy has had it easy in NE, let's see how that goes without TB12. His offense was a mess this year.
