April 19, 20206 yr One of the best books I've read in some time. Obviously the focus is on CCNY and the gambling scandal of the early 1950s, but if you are interested in the mafia, corruption, immigrants and religion, New York City in the fifties - it's all there. Terrific read!
April 25, 20206 yr Author Not my favorite Preston/Child collaboration, but not bad. Another 3 star read. I enjoy their Gideon Crew series.
April 25, 20206 yr Finished two this week. This one got 3 out of 4 stars. I figured it out waaaay too early but enjoyed how they got there, so I was not disappointed in the end.
