Congrats to the Mustangs on the championship and win against a very good team!

Congrats to the Mustangs!

They must've really earned this one!

Congrats also for winning the whole tourney!

Congrats to Brossart on a nice win!

Curious to see the stats....especially the Dragons' three-point shooting. South had made 33 threes in the two previous games including 14 vs. Harrison County and 19 versus Ryle.

So South shot poorly from deep? Nice win Stangs.

Don't know. Haven't seen any stats yet....

Unofficially, they hit 10.

Give our defense a little credit for their "bad shooting."

We cause a lot of folks problems by making them rush or taking them out of their comfort zones.

So....South didn't shoot well from the outside, I take it?

Proud of our team tonight, as we showed a lot of heart and intestinal fortitude in defeating a good South Oldham team to win the Henry County Holiday Tournament. This is the second time in four trips that we have brought home the top prize.

Despite falling behind 12-6 early the Mustangs rallied behind Ethan Eilerman to cut the deficit to 12-11 at the quarter stop. Eilerman produced eight of his co-game high 20 points in the first quarter.

Forty-three points went on the board in the second quarter - 23 by the Dragons an 20 by the Mustangs, as the Dragons held sway 35-31 at the half.

South Oldham did go cold in the third period, allowing the Mustangs to go on a 7-0 run, after trailing 41-33, and took the lead at 46-45 after three.

The free-throw line was our friend in the final eight minutes, as we hit 10 of 12 down the stretch to preserve the 67-62 win. For the game the Mustangs connected on 24 of 29, as opposed to the Dragon's 8 of 9 for the contest.

Carson Schirmer and Ethan Eilerman netted 20 points apiece, while Stephen Verst added 16 for the now 9-2 Mustangs who own an 8 game win streak. Our next outing will be with the Campbell County Camels in a 37th District seeding game in the "Crosstown Classic" this coming Friday at the Campbell County Middle School.

South Oldham's Luke Morrison is the real deal, as the 2018-19 8th Region Player of the Year, led all scorers with 31 points..

@Mustang

Why is the Campbell County game being played at the middle school?

It is played there on an annual basis. The Middle School seats more than either of our high school gyms.

Show up and you will understand.

Always a sell-out or near-sell out.

It is the closest thing you can come to a Regional tournament atmosphere in a regular season game.
