Trinity 56 Oldham County 0

Featured Replies

This got out of hand quick and in a hurry. I thought OC might get on the board late, but knew they were outmatched. Complete dismantling by the Rocks D, and it was pitch and catch, and big open holes for the O.

Onto Radcliff to see what NH is really about.

With due respect to Oldham County, this was a complete mismatch.

I have seen Trinity play twice this year and North Hardin three times. I don't see a scenario where North Hardin wins this matchup with Trinity.

Running clock with 10:02 in the second. Rocks struck quickly.

Trinity allowed 19 yards of offense per the radio broadcast. The Shamrocks scored points but that defense is rolling right now.

Turkey Day at Marshall Stadium is the best!

Get your coffee, hot chocolate, doughnuts and tickets for the North Hardin game. It's also a heck of a reunion of sorts. Can't wait for it.

Congrats to the Rocks on a completely dominating performance. We knew coming in to broadcast the game that it would be an uphill battle for the Colonels, but Trinity simply put on a clinic.

Rocks scored on 7 of their 8 first half possessions, only failing to score on the last one, when the halftime intervened.

Interesting stats:

- Trinity began 7 of their 8 first half possessions inside the Oldham 30. The 8th possession began on the OC 49.

- Oldham finished with just 20 yards of offense, unofficially. The Colonels' passing attack never got off the ground thanks to a tremendous Trinity rush, accompanied by solid man coverage on the Colonel wideouts.

- Upsets usually require the underdog to win the turnover battle; Trinity won it, instead, picking off Oldham passers three times, while the Rocks got through the game without a turnover.

- Oldham's best chance to score was nullified by a referee's whistle; a second half fumble recovery by Oldham's Parker Caudill, who took off for the other end zone with no defenders in sight was wiped out when the officials ruled the runner down. (from the box, it appeared that the ball was out before the player was down, but the official was right on top of the play, and I didn't see the Oldham sideline raising a lot of fuss, so the call may have been a good one....)

- Trinity was just bigger, faster, and stronger. At the end of the day, the Rocks totally controlled both lines of scrimmage, and that pretty much wrote the script.

Oldham had a fine year, winning 8 games in Mike Fox' third season. Fox, trying to rebuild Oldham into the top 10 team they were in the 2000s, is making progress; the Colonels have won 24 games in his three seasons, and the Colonels have advanced one step further in the playoffs in each of his three seasons. I think Colonel fans can see the improvement and that's been evident by the large crowds in the Buckner stands. The growth in the roster to over 90 kids this year and the increasing win total - three straight winning seasons after none since 2010 - have also been dramatic improvements. Mike's on the right path, but this game showed that much work is still to be done.

Congrats to the Rocks and best of luck next week against North Hardin!

Oldham County - kudos on a tremendous season and looking forward to next year!

CM. In defense of Oldham County, that was the most mistake free game Trinity has played. This team has been more prone to mistakes than most Trinity teams. If they keep playing that way they will be a tough out.

Congrats to OC and their fine season.

As well as the obvious turnaround of their program.re

There is a 'connection ' between the two- [see JIM KENNEDY].

Sorry for the rather rude "homecoming" for the Fox's.

IMVHO - there is T & H - then there is everybody else.

Yes, Jim Kennedy was the coach when I attended Oldham County HS. It was too bad he didn't have more success in Buckner - class man and a great football mind.

Very impressed with the fans OC brought. They were loud and proud. Best visiting crowd all season. Kudos.

Yes, they were.
