PutMeInCoach
Did Ricky Parrot get any playing time for SK? If Hester had a night off as some has suggested, just wondering what kind of PT did Parrot get. Have always thought that Parrot kid was a fine athelete...:thumb: Ricky played well, Hit a big three and i believe he also had a three point play. Ricky didn't come in for Mike much, both seemed to be on the court at the same time.

NEERFAN
You painted a good picture of the last shot Stallion but the Hopkins/LoCharles comparison is hard to imagine since Hopkins is all of 5'9".lol

Tiger1
I thought i watched SK win.:creepy: .. Scott played very hard. In the end they didn't have enough height. Exactly. Scott's lack of height killed them. Their lack of a big man against Hurd was the story. Both teams played very hard and it was a great game. Even in defeat I was very impressed with the players and Coach Carr. I spoke to a very good source and he tells me that Tyler Baker did indeed transfer to Scott and should be eligible in a few weeks. Baker should be able to help a lot with his ability to handle the ball, his athleticism, and scoring ability. This could be a huge pick-up for the Eagles. Ranger
Not the prettiest of wins for SK but their depth as well as height was the difference. Elbert, Layne and Hurd were difference makers at different times during the game. No rebound bigger than Elbert's that kept things alive for the Hopkins shot. If I am not mistaken, it was his only bucket of the game. A neat thrill of victory and agony of defeat picture at http://simonkentonteamsblogpage.blogspot.com/

I thought the Game was Great I admit i was shocked when Seth Blevins wasnt out on the floor i never got the story on that.... Hurd was hard to stop inside tonight, Late in the Fourth Simon got alot of easy Lay Ups Scott was very tired, I was very Empressed with Chris Quigley tonight and very Empressed with Sharp's ability to hangle the ball and find open men,,Ryne Smith and Nick Hillard were key guys off the bench i think we may see them in a little more than the other two seniors...I thought early in the fourth Scott was hoisting alot of threes it was kind of tough they were open threes but they just wouldnt go down,,, If they make them Scott wins by 15 but they didnt and SK took advantage,, I thought Scott should have attacked the front of the rim a little more and ran some clock....Great game though When Scott lost Miller they lost about 6 or 7 rebounds in the three minutes he was gone.... Curious how Baker plays varsity for CC for the last couple years and can play for Scott without sitting out?? Will definately be a good addition to an obviously underrated Scott team!! 4pointplay
Great Game! Scott lead for the majority of the game, they did a great job neutralizing Hester with the double team, and forced other SK players to step up. They had control until about 5 minutes left when SK over came a 9 point deficit to eventually lead by as much as 6 with under 3 minutes. A few costly SK turnovers, and a great play by Scott's pg Nathan Sharp brought Scott all the way back and to a 1 point lead with 7 seconds left in the game. A Scott foul put SK's Mike Hester on the line down a point, shooting the 1 and 1. With the Scott faithful going crazy and the SK student section's hearts racing, Hester's foul shot hit every part of the rim before finally falling to tie the game up. The second foul shot was missed, and the ball was knocked around, eventually into the hands of Mike Hester who put up a fade away 3 pointer with a few seconds left, that came up short, but SK's Eric Hopkins caught the airball and put up an uncontested layup as time expired to beat the Eagles 69 - 67, very reminiscient of the University of Houston and Jimmy V. As the SK players celebrated, the Scott players fell to their knees. It was a great addition to a great rivalry. Both student sections came to play, as did the players. This is what high school basketball is all about. The only complaint was the amount of fouls the ref's called, i believe there were around 36 total fouls in the game. In a fierce rivalry like this the ref's have to keep control, but they also have to let the boys play. Amazing game, hard fought by both sides, strong win for Simon Kenton over a pesky Scott Squad who will have their hands full with Mason Co. tomorrow. :dancingpa Nathan Sharp had the basket to put Scott up by 1 in the final seconds but the great play was the steal and the assist by Ryne Smith to Sharp for the bucket. Smith seemed to be everwhere on the floor tonight, great hustle plays, made some big shots
