October 16, 20196 yr It’s been bad but even then the average SOS for Wisconsin during that time period is in the top half of all Power 5 teams. I would think so, they do play teams from the east.
October 16, 20196 yr Can you add SOS? SOS Average Over 5 Years: Team 1: 24.6 Team 2: 31 Team 3: 14.6 Team 4: 9.6 I should have included this stat at the beginning. That was my question as well. Team 2 still looks solid, but that SOS average of 31 over 5 years isn't as appealing. Begs the question if they could've done it with team 4 or even team 3's schedule.

That’s a logical question to ask, but I don’t think it’s fair to act like they wouldn’t do as well against that schedule because we don’t know. All we know is what actually happened.

Wisconsin probably has 5 more losses and no conference title game appearances if they had either LSU or Auburn's schedule the last five years just due to having to play Alabama year in and year out. Just like they'd have more losses if they played in the same division as OSU the past five years. It's not much of a stretch to see them losing yearly to Bama or the Bucks each of the past 5 years.

I don’t see that as any different than Wisconsin losing in the conference championship. They played OSU in the regular season or conference championship every year except once in those 5 and in the one year they didn’t they started off the year playing Alabama. Those losses are accounted for.

So I do think it is very reasonable based on that to think their numbers may be more like team 3 or team 4 then if they played a similar schedule. They kind of showed they were like the Bengals team between 2011 and 2015. A good team who would beat teams of equal or less talent. However, struggled against the top teams with more talent.

That's basically every college team in the world. For the most part, you're going to struggle against teams with more talent.

Since we know Wisconsin was team number 2 now and had the easier strength of schedule. If say they did play the schedule of team 3 or 4, then chances are they would have similar resumes as teams 3 and 4 if not worst. Since they would be playing teams with most likely equal or more talent than them.

None of the OSU games were close. The Bama game was like 34-17 if I remember correctly. Again it’s no different than LSU who hasn’t really been close against Bama recently either. The conversation was simply who’s been better between the two.

Isn’t that sort of like Florida, Auburn, maybe even Georgia vs. Bama? Maybe some of the losses look a little better, or closer?
