I agree. I have seen all three teams play and there isn't much difference. Lloyd and Newport both have more playmakers than Beechwood but the Tigers are very well coached and disciplined. Beechwood's offense will decide these games. Beechwood's defense will be able to keep the scoring down. What we have seen in Beechwood's games the last two weeks is what I expect against Newport and Lloyd.

 

Lloyds defense is stronger than most think. Even against the teams they lost to they kept the yardage limited especially against the run. They actually had more yards than Scott but had 10 turnovers in that game. Scott had 131 yards Rushing and 63 Passing to Lloyds 103 Rushing and 111 Passing. So the difference in this game was the turnovers. Conner had 65 Rushing and 300 Passing. Lloyd had 50 yards Rushing and 182 Passing. The difference in this game was Conner was the better team. My point is I think it is hard to run against this defense.

It is all about match-ups. We may not see a true top 10 until after district play is over.

Cooper got dinged in the rankings on here after only beating Dixie 7 to 0 to start the year. So the question becomes would Beechwood also get dinged for only beating Dixie by 4.

 

Either way next weeks rankings should be interesting with how this past weekend played out. At this point with how the season has went. It's probably Covcath and then after that 6 or so teams that are all right around the same level.
