September 30, 20197 yr Over the weekend, I've noticed the rapidly increasing number of stink bugs showing up on our house and shed. Guess it's that time of year again. :madman: I bet we sucked up 40-50 of them with the shop vac in the shed yesterday. Anybody else already tired of dealing with them? More importantly, anybody have a good method of getting rid of these little pests? :arghh:
September 30, 20197 yr Noticed them multiplying over the weekend as well. I have read mint oil and warm water in a spray bottle works.

We seem to have them all year long anymore, but they did increase in numbers over the weekend.
September 30, 20197 yr Author I don't want to be around when you open that shop-vac. I've got a cedar picket left over from a past project. I'll just turn a portion of that into sawdust and sweep that up a day or two before we empty it. :lol2:
October 1, 20197 yr I am having issues with them. The little rascals are getting in through one of my windows, so I need to get that addressed. I just catch them and flush 'em down the toilet to avoid their stinky smell. They must like the heat. :(
October 1, 20197 yr I have noticed them the last few days too. I almost always see a couple of them hanging around my crib but the last few days they are everywhere and one even breached my living space last night.
October 4, 20197 yr I had an stink bug intruder a couple of nights ago and he is on full display at my place now and all his buddies ghosted my crib.
October 4, 20197 yr If I see one inside the house, I have had success simply sticking a paper towel in front of the bug, letting it crawl on the towel and taking it outside. No stink. No mess. Bug gone. Now, if he comes back with all his friends, then maybe I need a different approach.
October 4, 20197 yr Noticed them multiplying over the weekend as well. I have read mint oil and warm water in a spray bottle works. My brother and sister in law taught me about that. They said tea tree oil instead of mint, but yeah, same basic thing. I used 1/8 a teaspoon of tea tree oil in a spray bottle of warm water (I think they spray bottle is 12 or 16oz). I'll spray the outside of our exterior door frames, just basically around all four sides. It works for at least a few days and then I'll do it again. Some people think that's tedious to do every few days, but in reality it takes about 30 seconds per door, and saves a lot of messing with stink bugs in your house.
