It’s Somerset and then everyone else they are that good like many including myself have said. LCA is good but Somerset is on another level by themselves

Honestly it may be to early to say but solely on scores alone with Mayfield barely surviving last week by 5 and with the way Somerset handled Beechwood tonight 46-14 I just think Somerset offense is to much an will score on anyone when they want and there defense is equally as impressive. Maybe Mayfield will improve but if they played tomorrow I think Somerset would win and not be behind something like 35-20. Just my opinion and I’m sure Mayfield can improve it’s a long season but right now I still think Somerset sits at the top by themselves.

I don't think Mayfield is worried about needing to improve. They are fine right where they are. All three teams Mayfield has played and beaten are significantly better than all of Somerset's opponents to date.

With full realization that you are not the one bringing up Mayfied I’ll iffer a reaction to the Somerset vs Beechwood game that has nothing to do with Mayfield.

 

Beechwood is a young football team. They have a big big upside but they are young. Somerset did what most thought they would considering their experience and beechwood youth. Beechwood will struggle for a big part of their schedule not because they’re a bad football team by any means but because they’re a product of their historical success and they’re definitely going through growing pains. Coach rash is an OUTSTANDING coach and has improved them from week one significantly.

 

Somerset has a good team with multiple weapons all over the field. They can win in all facets of the game. They have to improve their kicking game moving forward. This game has nothing to do with mayfield. Both of these teams have a long way to go before district play let alone the playoffs. Good luck to both moving forward.

Hard to believe #44 on Somerset is a freshmen. He looks like a senior.

People can argue all day, but the simple fact IMO the only 2A team that can beat Mayfield is Somerset, and the only team in 2A that can beat Somerset is Mayfield. LCA will give some fits, but just don't see it yet, but could be wrong. We all should cheer for both to get 1 heck of a 2A title game. The boys will settle who's better no matter what we think.

I would like to point out a lot was sayin they'd see how Somerset did against Beechwood to judge them if they're legit. Now it's oh Beechwood is down. They lost to Paintsville 19-14 the team that only lost to Pikeville the so called god's of class A 9-8, the same Paintsville team Somerset destroyed in a game scrimmage. My point is Beechwood isn't that far down, they play tough games. It also shows that Somerset is really good by using that to measure. For years it's always Mayfield is the greatest, until they step out of the west and lose to, LCA, Danville, CAL. Knowone is unbeatable, and Mayfield should not underestimate the Jumpers like others the past 3 years.
