I'll pay his way if he can promise to not miss PATs and if is automatic inside the 35!

That's a given...:thumb:

Here's what won't score - an inside handoff into the teeth of the goaline defense from 3-5 yards out.

That play won't work at the state finals next week. Why would it work on the road at the #19 team in the country?

Oh i c, if he cashes all the early ones, UK wouldnt have been forced to go for it at the end.

Turning points:

-On third and goal from the 8 or 9, UT got down to the half yard line. If UK stops them anywhere from the 2 on, UT probably kicks the field goal instead of going for it, and then UK can take the lead with a field goal.

-On second and goal from the 3, UK gets a delay of game. That is a genuine, bona fide, UK moment. Naturally they only get to the six on the ensuing three plays.

-Missed PAT, missed FG means UK has 12 points instead of 16, and once again, they'd have only needed a field goal for the win.

-UK was inside UT's then yard line four times and only come away with a TD once. They got two field goals on the other posessions, but when you're playing UT in Neyland, you gotta have a TD.

Positive thoughts:

-UK is moving in the right directions. We can hem and haw about the defense, playcalling, etc., but the fact is that UK sans the Louisville and LSU game were in every single game they played, at least for most of the game. Hopefully next year or the next few seasons those breaks that never happened might happen for UK to win a couple. This is a team that could have been 9-3 with the right breaks in the USC and UT game.

-UK is going to a bowl, or at least they really should be.

-UK is so very, very young. They get a lot of people back and when you're 7-5 this year, that means nothing but good things. Recruiting is moving in the right direction as well.

-UK at least was in a position to win against a team that has haunted them every year since 1984.

We should still make the Music City bowl IMO

Thoughts on the game:

- inspired play by UK, even on defense

- the inside handoff on 4th and 3 in the 4th quarter was possibly the worst play call in the history or UK football

- the delay of game penalty was one of the most costly penalties in recent memory

- mistake to try and pick the fumble up, costed UK valuable field position and time

- In all reality, I think UK has about 3 true big-time defensive players on their team

- Great game by Little, Woodson, Tamme, Woodyard, and better than usual effort by the whole defense

- In the end, its just another painful game for UK football - we always come so unbelievably close to winning these big games, but just can't quite get over the hump

Im proud of the cats! I don't think anybody picked them to win or to lose this close! The defense actually played very good against a ranked team on the road! They just need to win there bowl game and them keep building into the future!:thumb:

I counted only 13 Seniors that we will lose (out of 108), and not all of them saw playing time.

Only 3 on O and 3 on D that actually start, only skill player is the CB Booker

I agree with you, but the problem is the gap between those three and the next eight. I think part of the problem is that those other eight plus the bench is very young, but they are fundamentally poor when it comes to tackling. They often are in the wrong place and they don't wrap up well.

"Skill?"

Yup, McClinton makes that Tackle, UK gets one more shot...

Non Lineman, well if you count a FB as skill position, then 2

I know what "skill positions" are. I just don't see Mr. Booker as having much of it.;)

I consider skill players to be anyone who is not a lineman...TEs are half and half.
