I have personally known little sam since he was a little monster back in the wolverine days in peewee ball, he always had a knack to be the best and you could tell he was going to be darn good! He deserves everything he gets! Way to go sam-bo! Get yourself a ring!

The Daily Independent said JC ran 72 plays. The Ky Post said JC was 1-6 passing. JC scored twice. So 72-5-2=65 opportunities for a tackle. I don't know if JC turned the ball over, if punts were included in the number of JC plays, or if Flynn was in the game on every defensive snap but it would appear that Flynn made a tackle literally every other play.

Shooter,

He was in on every defensive play. And if you value my opinion at all,;) , I'd say he was there on every bit of 30-something tackles. I believe at one point, Johnson Central ran the fullback like 7 straight plays. HT:thumb:

True... But it must be said that Central's FB dive was pretty dang effective until the starting FB went out with the leg injury.

Actually, I was surprised that Matney had the patience to stick with it and take the 3 - 6 yds./rush they were getting. It allowed Central to control the pace of the game to that point.

I agree, my friend, that running the fullback was effective. I only mentioned it, in relation, to Flynn's number of tackles. ;)

It was a huge loss for JC.... You could see the JC kids head drop when he went down. He is/was a special player and my guess, a leader on your team. Is he going to be OK?

We will have to agree to disagree.:thumb:

HT,

If you say he had 30+ tackles then he had 30+ tackles.

According to the CCH stats, Sam had 16 solo tackles and 15 assists for a total of 31 combined tackles. MOST IMPRESSIVE!!

Oh, I know... just adding a little flavor to the thread. ;)

I'm the wrong person to ask... "my" team is Prestonsburg. ;)

I had been waiting (forever) for Central to show their potential. They've had superb players/coaching at the younger levels for many years.

They're the only large school in this region with the resources to compete on even footing (ignoring the private/public junk) on a statewide level.

As a football fan, I LOVE having another team to cheer for locally !!!

Do we start an over under game on the number of tackles that Flynn is going to get in the state game? If so, I say over 15.

I'll take the number of Hibbitt carries, divided by 2, plus 3 (for screens and such) = 17 :D
