Rooting against Benny Snell is going to be really weird.

I’ve got a towel with your name on it. :D

Bengals take Michael Jordan C from the Ohio State University.

Giants GM on Haskins - I had seen Dwayne play in the Big 12 championship game, is that the Big 12 anymore?”

Giants GM has won multiple super bowls too.

Also had a really good draft last year.

Its trendy to hate on him but some other QB needy teams passed on Haskins as well.

You would have passed on Dwayne also?

Looks like the Giants have signed CJ Conrad as a free agent. I'm hoping he can get out there and show people what he can do. He's had to over come a lot just to make it this far.

The Giants ended up with 3 picks in the 1st round and could’ve taken Daniel Jones with any of those 3 picks. Literally 2 weeks ago in a discussion about Haskins, Gettleman said you have to draft the best player available. If you draft on need you will screw yourself every time. When pressed if QB was an exception to that rule, Gettleman said no. Then he goes and drafts Daniel Jones with the 6th pick? In no way is Daniel Jones the 6th best player in this draft. If you don’t take a QB there you literally have a unanimous top 5 player in the draft fall to you with Josh Allen and you don’t take him. Makes no sense. Everything Gettleman has said and done is one giant contradiction and seems to be made with no real direction in mind. Obviously as an OSU fan I love Haskins and his potential in the NFL. I think he’s hands down the best QB in this draft. I understand other people not having that same opinion and it’s fine. I don’t fault Gettleman for not taking Haskins, but he deserves a ton of criticism for how he handled this draft.

I don't pretend to be a professional NFL scout.

Not according to most NFL insiders including Mike Garofolo. Most people claim there were at least 2 teams that were going to pick Jones before the Giants at 17.

Regardless, if you love a QB you don't risk losing him.

Your judgement is clearly a little biased regarding Haskins.

The Giants, Cardinals, Raiders, Broncos, Bengals all passed on him when they could all use a QB.

My post goes out of my way to point out my biases towards Haskins. I don’t deny that. It’s impossible for me to view Haskins in an unbiased lense. I do my best to try and be rational when discussing Haskins. The biggest knocks on him are his lack of running ability and only starting one year. These are two things that NFL GMs our way more emphasis on than I do. I’m not an expert on any of this, nor is anyone else on here as far as I’m aware. Hell first round QBs hit at about a 50% success rate anyways so the people who literally get paid to make these decisions fail all the time.

You’re allowed to have an opinion on a message board, come on.

I actually respect the fact you will back your GM right or wrong.

I don't know who they should have drafted. I havent done enough to say either way, which is why I'll wait a couple seasons before I judge it.

Haskins has good numbers. But take away the 3 NFL receivers, NFL running back and star studded offensive line...in other words...put him at Duke and I wonder how good those numbers are.

Btw, I don't agree with every move made by Gettleman. I wouldn't have traded OBJ. If that trade doesn't pan out, he deserves to be fired for that alone.

JT had the same talent around him for 4 years, as did Braxton, Dwayne put up the best season in school history in 1 attempt and made it look like high school. Sure I’m biased, I go back 2 years ago when he was a freshman and sitting behind JT and all the players were whispering “why isn’t Dwayne playing?”

As you said, we will see how it pans out. It will be fun twice a year to watch the Skins and Giants for sure.

Rumor has it the Manning’s picked Eli’s understudy.

I hate the argument that if you the QB who plays for the loaded team wouldn’t be as good if on a less talented team. That narrative only gets used when it fits the narrative people want to tell. Kyler Murray had just as many NFL receivers, an NFL running back, and 5 NFL OLineman. Tua next year will have likely 4 NFL recievers to throw to, NFL offensive lineman, and an NFL back. Same with Trevor Lawrence when he comes out in 2 years. That narrative won’t be told with them, but yet it was told with Haskins. I’m not calling you out specifically, but that argument is used a lot when discussing Haskins and its ridiculous. Also Haskins didn’t have good numbers, he had elite numbers.
