Non Coffee Drinkers

Featured Replies

Never drank coffee much until about 10 years ago, and when I did I went overboard and would drink about 4 cups ‘til my eyes were bug eyed. Chilled that habit out and now I have just one cup every morning and that’s that.

I enjoy the pick me up, and the comforting feeling it gives me. Anymore than that throughout the day dehydrates me so I don’t bother, but maybe have a hot tea in the afternoon, but only occasionally.

I have experienced headaches if I delay the morning cup, but feel that if I had to ever quit it wouldn’t take too long to get over not having one cup a day. I never want to hear from my doctor that I need to stop, but as I age I suppose that’s possible.

As a small child in the 1920's my grandmother would encourage my dad to drink coffee every morning before school telling him that it would keep him from having a headache. Little did she realize that she got him hooked not understanding that the headache was from withdrawal. :lol2:

I’m a big believer in a bottle or two of water in the morning. Always gets me through to my lunchtime Mt Dew, which gets me to my dinnertime brews.

In the past, and occasionally now, nicotine would get me to lunch, especially when I was in lawncare.

I drink a lotttttt of hot tea. I drink probably 5-6 mugs per work day when it's cooler, and 3, maybe for mugs when it's warmer. Big 16 ounce mugs.

I drink plain black tea...usually Irish breakfast, or sometimes Yunnan or Assam. Every once in a while I'll opt for Earl Grey when I have a sore throat or cold, because it has bergamot citrus oil in it.

Assam black tea is a pretty comparable match to normal drip coffee, actually. An 8oz cup of drip coffee has 95mg of caffiene, and an 8oz mug of Assam tea has 80mg of caffiene.

If you want to develop a taste for coffee, add a good amount of cream. Then drop a biscuit in, sprinkle with sugar and eat with a spoon. Tasty. Or you could just dunk a donut.

It's really weird because I don't really mind coffee stouts, but just can't really do regular coffee.

My mother, with a German influence, used to dunk her breakfast toast into her coffee. I never questioned it but later on found that it's very common for the French and the Germans to do this, and that it's a European thing to dunk bread in coffee. I have a French friend who puts multiple pieces of french bread in his coffee and spoons it like its soup.

Well, maybe if we start throwing booze in our coffee we will change our opinions. :D

Actually that’s how I started to be able to drink coffee. I had a friend who talked me into trying coffee w/Baileys and whipped cream at a restaurant. I kinda liked it, and started occasionally drinking that combination at home.
