The announcers were driving me nuts the last few minutes with the whole Cal needs to get other guys in. But then I just looked at the update thread and UK fans in the update thread were saying the same thing lol.

 

I guess people didn't realize UK did have their usual backups in. Both Richard's and Montgomery usually backups. Baker, and Quickley backups. So there literally was only one guy who he could have put in. I'm not sure what people wanted him to do there lol.

Washington seemed in good spirits on sideline. However with him saying the pain was a 10 and with him being in a hard cast now does make me worry. Especially when I saw Herro had Washingtons jersey number wrote on his arm sleeve. So i hope the players dont know something we dont know and it's a season ending thing.

It's fair - I didn't realize their bench was that short of reserves. I think it's a sensitivity to the plight they may have if Washington is really hurt more than they're publicly saying, and Richards is a guy they need to step up. It was just a little spooky to see.

I dont think the announcers really knew much about UK at all. They talked about how Cal has a tight roatation. Well there is 9 guys who usually get minutes every game. So even when backups are in, it's still guys who play meaningful minutes.

 

But to be honest I didnt realize all this either until Reid Travis was hurt. With Brad Calipari red shifting, Quade transfering, and now Washington hurt. It leaves only 9 guys dress. Which 8 of them play meaningful minutes.

I think it is bad on Washington. Does not look or sound good. And to think he may have hurt it in practice Sunday goofing around.

Goofing around how? If it is doing a crazy dare, then that is something to be upset over. If he and a teammate were having a fun one on one game, then it is just a freak accident and no one should be upset. You keep harping on this goofing around thing. I think we have to know what the goofing around was before getting upset about it.

Threes is a great equalizer. Plus they have a good inside player.

I agree. I thought that the hard cast was a bad sign. Hope that I'm wrong. Also, I wonder about Richards shoulder stiffening up on him by in the morning. That undercut caused a pretty hard fall on that shoulder. Those type things sometimes don't show up until the next day.

This one went as expected, even with P.J. out the Cats rolled to an easy win. My concerns is if Washington will be able to go on Sat.. Also, along with N. Richards … he took a very hard fall on his shoulder. He continued to play but those type things usually stiffen up later.

This is NCAA tourney time ….. survive and advance.

Just a friend who had heard it. I mainly posted it to see if anybody else had heard anything like it. Heard a lot of people say he looked fine after the UT game then all of a sudden he came up with this foot injury on Monday.
