Nicely done Bearcats!

Congrats to WV and the 8th region. This makes the 4th straight year the 8th region representative has advanced to the quarterfinals.

Congrats Bearcats!

Pardee had a nice game at both ends of the court!

And Miles did a tremendous job altering shots around the rim ...

Way to go Bearcats!

Came out on fire to begin the game, then stumbled a little in the second, before getting things back after halftime. Knox Central tried to keep Miles from dominating in the paint, and triple-teamed him nearly every time he touched the ball. But even if he didn't get a shot off, he was still able pass efficiently out of that. And yes, he affected the shots in the paint on the defensive end. Lost track of how many legitimate blocks he had, but I'd say it's probably close to 7 or 8.

When Walton was able to keep their original starting 5 in the game together, it was hard to stop them. Everybody had a role, and played it to near perfection.

Looking forward to Friday!

WV did everything they needed to do today. They got a little sluggish when the defense started to sag but they hit a few 3's which opened up their middle game again. Incredible defense to hold KC well below their average also creating some easy buckets. It looks like they are playing their best ball at the right time. Kudos to the Bearcat Nation.

WALTON-VERONA (28-6): Pardee 11 0 24, Miles 8 3 19, Jones 2 0 5, Bonne 6 0 14, Grubbs 2 0 6, Brook 1 0 2, Schrader 1 0 3, Stanley 0 1 1, Smith 1 0 2. Totals: 32 4 76.

KNOX CENTRAL (30-5): Elliott 2 0 4, Martin 7 2 17, Imel 2 1 5, Turner 3 0 7, Adams 7 2 19, Abner 0 2 2. Totals: 21 7 54.

Halftime, WV 32-28. 3-pointers: WV 8 (Pardee 2, Bonne 2, Grubbs 2, Jones, Schrader), KC 5 (Adams 3, Turner, Martin).

Happy for the Bearcats!

Congrats to the Bearcats! You're carrying the 8th Region banner well!
