November 21, 200619 yr I'm as big an SEC supporter there is, but it's nowhere near as good as it usually is this year, IMO. Here's how I'd rank the conferences... 1) Pac-10 2) SEC 3) Big Ten 4) Big 12 5) Big East 6) ACC But, before anyone jumps on my opinion, let me say this. I really think you're splitting hairs when comparing the top three. I think there is a little gap from 3 to 4 and then I would rank the Big 12 and Big East pretty close. The ACC is easily at the bottom this year. The Big Ten is definitely stronger at the top with Michigan and OSU, but after that, I think the SEC and Pac-10 are much better through the rest of the conference. Both the Pac-10 and the SEC have pretty good depth, but I give the Pac-10 the edge because I think SC makes it a little stronger at the top. It's just a matter of opinion and that's mine. I'm sure most people on here are going to argue that the Big Ten or SEC is the best and that's fine. Like I said, the top three are very close, IMO.

Cal has been overrated all year long. Just because teams play USC close doesnt make them that great IMO. Plus the SEC, defensively is a whole lot better. I know it isnt flashy, but good defenses is very important.

But, I said before, I think they're close. If you think the SEC is better, that's fine...just don't knock the Pac-10 and tout the SEC...you don't have a leg to stand on there.

I don't want to hear about Colt McCoy's injury, either; A) It's not why they lost the game and B) Louisville played the entire game with their backup QB, who while I think is progressing nicely, was not an all-world Elite 11 QB prospect like Texas' backup. In any case, Louisville also beat Kentucky... last I checked, UK was the hottest thing since sliced bread around here. Last week, everyone was talking up where UK was rated by the BCS formulas and computer rankings.

UL's backup QB Cantwell has played a lot with Brohm's injuries and is a good QB. Texas' backup QBs hadnt seen the field. Honestly. Texas isnt that great, and I love Texas. But their defense isnt very good this year. Also K State has a freshman QB who Im sure is a lot better now than he was when he played UL.
