Gallatin County 75 Simon Kenton 71 (8th Region Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

Congrats to Gallatin! Simon Kenton post season troubles happen again this year. Simon Kenton lost 7 out of their last 9.

Great Win for the Wildcats, they played with a lot of guts!

It’s like the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day.

Congrats to Coach Jones and the Wildcats.

Gallatin just played harder and wanted it a little more than SK.

Watching the game you hear coaches talk about 50/50 balls. GC kids were diving in the floor for them while SK kids watched.

Another good game by Robbie Krohman. He is a tremendous young man!!!

15 straight for the Wildcats who improve to 27-5. Wyatt Bowen with 26 to lead Gallatin.

Troy Coomer scored 22. The State’s leading free throw shooter hit 13-13 from the foul line, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Jarin Rassman scored 16.

Kelly Niece led the Pioneers with 30.

WOW. Watched the game on Pegasus and they did a great job broadcasting. Did not realize that Wyatt had that many.

Coomer is money from the line.

Time for a change in Independance. Steiner is just not getting it done!!!

Down 2 going into the 4th quarter Coomer would not let his career end tonight. He started being assertive and knew he'd get to the line where he's money. Rassmin had 16 but I felt like he was "off" offensively. He played a really nice floor game. Bowen is one of those guys every close, hard working, gritty team has. Not always pretty but gives everything he's got, which lately has been 20 plus points.

From what I understand SK played some young kids tonight and are maybe building towards the future with Niece as a soph. He's a nice player, hard for him to have to score 30 every night just to have a shot.

I'm beginning to sense an All A Gallatin v Walton 8th region final. But those two Oldham schools always seem to find a way, at least one of them.

Make room for me on the Gallatin bandwagon on the way to Rupp!

Yeah win, lose, or draw come Friday, this team has been something SPECIAL.

I could watch Bowen eight days a week. A very talented trio with solid role players.

If there is a player in high school sports that plays as hard as Wyatt Bowen for an entire game I'd like to see him. On top of that, the kid can flat out play.

Congratulations to Gallatin. Good luck to you Friday. Hard earned victory.

Still love the Pioneers. Good group of young men. The 3 Seniors Hickey, Krohman, and Lair played their hearts out tonight. Wish they could have got one more W. Underclassmen will be back to the Roy next year with some good experience

And again SK falters late in the season and the season ends too early in the Regional tournament. The season started with such promise, ends much earlier than it should. As I said before the season started this will continue to be SK's MO until there is a change at the top, which will not happen for reasons that have been mentioned many times.

Congrats to Gallatin County and good luck to them and WV.

LOL - I couldn't resist posting that again!

Congrats to Gallatin County on a quality first round win!
