February 17, 20197 yr Final nice win for the Cats. They played about as well as the could for about 25 minutes of this one.
February 17, 20197 yr Not that rankings matter but what do the voters do with UK ? Lose on a controversial last play to a top 20 team and dominate the #1 team in the same week.

February 17, 20197 yr Probably stay at 5 and Tennesee at 4. Exactly what I was thinking. Had the LSU game been a road game I think it would be UK 4/UT 5
February 17, 20197 yr Still amazing the difference in a lost and a win on these threads. It doesnt even matter if they beat the number 1 team by 17, there still isnt many people on here saying much. But if they would have lost by 17, it would be 3 pages by now. How Cal sucks, cant win without elite one and done talent, etc.
February 17, 20197 yr Great win. Personally, I would rather beat Tennesee than anyone on our schedule. Rivalry, for me, goes back a long way.
February 17, 20197 yr Thank God PJ came back. For his future as well as for the Cats. He has gone from most likely undrafted last year, to a first round pick this year.

It may change the line of thinking for some players now for Cal to. Cal can say yeah you could leave right now, or you could come back and end up as one of the best players in the country and improve your draft position even more. Hagans and Herro are two of those guys. To where he may be able to point to how much it helped Washington.

Haters wait with baited breath to post when anything goes wrong. Go back and read old game and post game threads... Game update threads: They suck! UK pulls out the win. Game Final threads: Same posters are silent or talking about how unbeatable they are.
February 17, 20197 yr As others have said …. By Far, the best played game of the season thus far for the Cats. Cal obviously had these guys focused. U.K.s swarming defense overwhelmed UT from the start, throughout the game. P.J. Washington pours in 23 on an incredible night, he showed the kind of player he can be. Rebounding edge was a huge 14 rb. margin over a very good rebounding team. Hagans had an excellent game as did Ty Herro, imo played his best of the season and crashed the boards for 14 rb. from his guard position. I thought that U.K.'s physical play stunned the Vols from the outset and that continued throughout the game. This win pulled the SEC race in tighter. I'm certainly not crowning this UK team Champions yet but they sent a message, looked like a contender in this one. Now let's not have a let down vs, Mizzou this Tues.. Should anyone want to see what was a team dominating against a #1 team then look at the stats …..Men's Basketball vs University of Tennessee on 2/16/2 Edited February 17, 20197 yr by oldrambler

February 17, 20197 yr Nice win. UK was a much more physical team tonight. They looked like the team full of upperclassmen pushing around a bunch of freshmen. Hagans playing well made a world of difference.
