At what point will you turn your back on your children and send them to hell? That is what you are assigning to Jesus/God/Holy Spirit. That at some point Jesus will reject his teaching to Peter and quit forgiving. Was Jesus' instructions to Peter meant just for Peter and they did not apply to Jesus himself?

 

You are allowed to do whatever you wish - the Bible even says it, "Everything is permissable, but not everything is beneficial." I think you show a better WAY by how you live, not by condemning the way someone else lives.

If we are not to hold people accountable why are we giving instructions on how to remove people from the church if they continue their ways that are sins? Don't get me wrong, this should be a last resort and should be over a LONG period of time. But if it is not an option, why are we told HOW to do it?

And to answer your first question. Never will I send them to hell. I do not have that power nor the ability to judge for that punishment. But if after years of teaching them, modeling proper behavior for them, punishing them and they would want to bring drugs and the like into my house, I would practice the toughlove and tell them it is time for them to deal with their own mistakes.

The Scripture says it is the LOVE of money and not just money/wealth that is the source of all evil.

 

I would encourage our government to encourage, reward, etc, people who want to share their wealth.

The Question is ultimately - "how can you judget the heart of any sinner, homosexual or otherwise." How do you know that Elton John does not have a relationship with the Risen Savior? You can't know that, and yet you would say that he has not repented and is going to hell b/c he continues practicing homosexuality and outwardly. I envy every day, am I going to hell. My son a 9 year old is selfish every day - is he going to hell? Elton John is Gay - every day, of course he is going to hell (irony).

For some reason, I'm thinking it said something to the effect that the commandment to observe the Sabbath and keep it holy is the only one that Jesus didn't specifically command His followers to observe. He commanded (or re-commanded, if you will) the other nine. If that's the way it's worded, then it's possible that He did mention it, He just didn't instruct them to follow it as it had previously been followed.

 

Either way, I'm not 100% sure because I haven't actually verified it with my own Bible study.
