I was able to sneak out this afternoon and play Blue Ash golf course (very nice public course in Cincinnati). What a beautiful day! Course was in pretty good shape, especially for mid March. Shot a 39-42=81...back nine was VERY SLOPPY! It's early...that's my story and I am sticking with it:)...

Worst 1st hole in the city.

Not one of my favorites. Also, the guy who set the pins today must have been in a bad mood. Five or six of the pins bordered on unfair IMO.

I love Blue Ash. Actually played there on my bachelor party!

Daughter and son-in-law are visiting from Louisville this weekend. While eating Irish breakfasts at Lil’ Jumbo coffee shop in Washington a little while ago, they surprised us with an announcement that they’re taking us to Ireland and Scotland for eight days in October. One of the items on the itinerary is golf at the Castle Course at St. Andrews.

That is awesome!!!!!!! Play the Old Course! I also have talked to many people who have played Kings Barns which is in St. Andrews. Every person who I have talked to said it is the most beautiful course over there. They played the women's British Open there a couple of years ago...

Played my first rounds of the year Friday and Saturday. Shot 84 on Friday and 88 on Saturday (two different courses). Coarse was packed on Saturday and we had to wait just about every shot. Made it tough to get in a rhythm.

Just got back from Vegas...played 5 rounds in 5 days. We went to Mesquite one day and played Wolf Creek...OMG...if you ever get the chance to play it, DO. The scenery is incredible. Check out the Wolf Creek website. The pics are awesome but do not do justice to how much elevation change is on this course. I've never seen anything like it. You really have to be careful driving a cart on the cart paths...some are so steep. In fact, they make you sign a waiver when driving the cart that they are not responsible for any injuries you may incur.

We also played another great course IMO...Reflection Bay, which is on Lake Las Vegas and is really beautiful and fun to play. Another really neat course was Royal Links. All 18 holes at this course are replicas of great British Open holes...I parred the Road Hole but bogeyed the Postage Stamp hole.

Have one final round left this winter in Ft. Myers. Will have played 39 rounds since early January. Handicap climbing from 7.8 to 11.8 tells the story.

Teeing it up tomorrow in the first MGA event at Greenbrier. Looking forward to it. Purchased some new Titleist hybrids last week and haven’t had time to hit them. I like the look of them though.

I just found out that I am playing Bandon Dunes in June. I absolutely cannot wait. It's a long story that I won't bore you with but I thought I would not be able to go but now can. We have 12 guys going and everything I have heard is that Bandon Dunes is about as good as it gets in the US to play golf. The pics on their web site are spectacular and guys I know who have been there say the pics don't lie...cannot wait!

You're a lucky guy. Your buds are 100% correct. Hope you get to play all 4 courses, plus the Par 3 and leave a couple hours for cocktails and a hilarious time in the Punch Bowl. Until you do it, you haven't experienced the fun of losing a few bucks over a 200 ft. downhill putt that breaks 5 different directions. Lots of stories. Love to hear about your experiences.

Biggest challenge is getting there! You'll understand later.

Nothing crueler than a sleek, sexy new club that plans all along to be unfaithful and let you down when you're counting on her most.

They were actually pretty reliable that day.

So pleased for you. But, she is planning to disappoint you when you need her most. She has probably fully mastered making you even think you did something wrong and deserved what you got. I am convinced all golf clubs are female scripted at the factory to plot against success in our golf games.
