November 13, 200619 yr The game of the century was played in 1966 between #1 and undefeated Notre Dame vs # 2 and undefeated Michigan State. The game ended in a 10-10 tie. Both teams finished the season 10-0-1, but voters awarded Notre Dame the national championship. Politics as usual, I suppose. That's all well and good except for the fact that it occurred LAST CENTURY, actually last millenia. Anyway this is the most eagerly anticipated game of this season but I would hardly call it the game of the century. I'll bet it gets no where near the ratings of last years UT/USC game.

November 13, 200619 yr OSU has more talent this year, but in years past talent doesn't win this huge rivarly. It will be hard for Michigan to contain Smith and company, but likewise OSU will have trouble stoping Hart and the running game. In the end I predict OSU by 10

Or it was in 1971 when unbeaten #1 Nebraska (Johnny Rogers, Jerry Tagge, Jeff Kinney, et al) beat unbeaten #2 Oklahoma (Greg Pruitt and the all time leading rushing team, 471 yards per game) 35-31 for the national title. Or it was in the Orange Bowl in 1988 when Undefeated #1 Okahoma was upset by undefeated #2 Miami for National Championship. 20-14. There's always a new "Game of the Century" every year. The 71 NU vs OU is the only one Ive ever known to be called the game of the century. Heisman trophy winner Johnny Rodgers punt return for a TD was nothing short of amazing.

"They made them get off the bus, unload all their gear and they had dogs sniff 'em and all of that, thinking that they're carrying stuff in there. "They can do that some other time, because they didn't do it to any other team and they haven't done it to any other team this year. So by God they better not do it to Michigan, and you can take that back to 'em."
