16thBBall Fan
Manny Diaz has already been named as the U’s next head coach. He was announced as the next coach at Temple on Dec. 15. Interesting

UKMustangFan
Incredibly poor optics. Lack of character IMO. Just signed 17 kids at Temple.
NKYknowitall
That’s a bad look for Díaz, a really bad look.
ManOfTroy
Surely he didn't know Reicht was going to retire. So, if that is the case, he's returning to the school where he was working that is in his hometown. I can see where that would be a hard job to turn down. Would have been nice if Reicht or the school could have given him a heads up or something. Still not a great look but I think I can understand it. swamprat
Miami is paying Temple the $4 million buyout of Diaz's contract. Georgia Tech had already paid Temple $2.5 million to get Geoff Collins.
GrantNKY
This is tough. You feel bad for Temple and the guys they just signed. But I have a hard time faulting Diaz. Miami is very likely a dream job for him. He hadn’t moved to Philadelphia yet so he doesn’t have to move his family, he’s from Miami, and Miami can be a great program. I don’t think it shows a lack of character.
OlDog75
They should be able to walk. I agree the newly signed kids should be able to leave with no restrictions. I also understand this kind of thing leaves a bad taste in the mouth but this is what college football has become and it's tough to find fault with a guy leaving when he has a chance for his dream job. newarkcatholicfan
I agree the Temple players who signed should be allowed to walk. I can't blame the new coach, in a world where money comes first, he made the correct choice. And on paper he should be able to do more things at Miami. ggclfan
Miami is paying Temple the $4 million buyout of Diaz's contract. Georgia Tech had already paid Temple $2.5 million to get Geoff Collins. The coaches leaving Temple has turned into a real money maker for the school! A lot of schools would probably be happy with this situation...this basically pays for the next coach. No way I fault Diaz. Miami is his dream job. It DOES stink for the Temple recruits but I doubt that many were going there just because of him...he was announced as the new coach only two weeks ago. Every poster on here if offered his or her dream job a couple of weeks after agreeing to go work somewhere else (get to stay in Miami instead of moving to Philly and have much more opportunity and make much more money) would take it... 16thBBall Fan
I think it is good for Miami. I personally am not a huge Miami U fan but when they are good I think it is good for college football. They are a lighting rob most either love them or hate them. Oldercoach
I have no integrity issues with leaving the school. Fastest $4million Temple football ever made. The integrity issue comes with what was said (or not said) to the 17 recruits, and that we probably never will know.
