I seen Gerad Parker last saturday at the UK game and he said Raceland would win tonight. Good call Coach.

The "Orange Crush" Defense was more than outstanding in this one! They had 5 interceptions and forced 2 maybe 3 fumbles and recovered them. Caleb Caldwell and J.T. Forrest were once again outstanding with big hits all night. Cladwell blocked a LCA punt in the 2nd qtr. that was picked up and ran in for a t.d.. This is a Raceland football "TEAM"!! Defense came up big time all night / the "O" was stopped in the 2nd half but broke some big playes in the 1st half with Carver breaking a 43yd, TD run. Special teams had some problems but also came up with some big plays.

What a season ,Good luck Rams the rest of the way!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Lexington Christian Eagles! The LCA kids have nothing to hang their heads over, they have a very good, young team. Imo LCA has one of the Best coaches in the entire state in Raines and they have great people supporting them. If LCA would had beaten our Rams tonight I would have been pulling for them all te way. LCA is a class act from top to bottom.:thumb: and take a back seat to no one.

Now, as you look to next week, know this: Northern Kentucky is VERY beatable. Last year Beechwood came to our house and we took them apart. YOU just beat an LCA team that is even better than we were last year - and you did it in OUR house.

 

I am very sure that you can not only compete with, but outplay NCC this next week. You've got the tools, now use them!

Bluto I want to thank you and EagleEye for all the class that you have shown on bgp and for the prayers that you have sent for me and some others on other issues. You guys are a class act and I appreciate it. Also, I would like for you to extend these same thoughts to Coach Raines, I was informed by EagleEye of a prayer line that I along with cvillecat were included on by him. Actually, I think it was 8...5 ints, 2 fumbles, and a blocked punt for a TD.

You have my support all the way to the carpet now that Pikeville is out of the picture. I think NCC is in for a battle next week.

Congrats to all the LCA kids. They got down fast and didn't give in. These kids have a lot of heart and more determination than I have seen in a long time. EE I wish you wouldn't have turned out the lights LOL. LCA you have one of the if not the best frosh QB's in the state. This kid is gonna be all-state if he continues this play. That kid doesn't act or look like a frosh on the field. #30 is a good running back too. RAMS you all played and left it all in Lexington. This was a good test before you play NCC like Bluto said Northern KY teams are beatable. One game at a time keep it up.

TRR is right Ram players, you have to have the same attitude that you went into Lexington with. We Are Not Finished Yet / Never Be Satisfied / Fear No One but Respect All!!! The Raceland Coaches had the team very well prepared and focused tonight :thumb: to our GREAT coahing staff! The Rams handled adversity in the 2nd half when LCA has made adjustments and were stopping us. The Defense stepped up big and made the plays they had to all night. Now lets get ready and re focused on NCC for next week and the regional title :ylsuper: . Raceland has been to regional title games before but have never won a region championship. This years edition of the Rams imo have a good chance to bring home Raceland's first regional title.:flame:

We have been to a few regional finals in the past before the playoffs were expanded to 4 teams out of a district advancing to the playoffs. So Yes, Raceland has advanced to a regional final before.

Regional Final: Beechwood 35, Raceland 14

 

1988

First Round: Raceland 27, Carroll County 7

Regional Final: Beechwood 34, Raceland 14

 

There were also losses in 1975 (Ludlow), 1977 (Bellevue), 1979 (Bellevue), 1980 (Bellevue) and 1982 (Beechwood) that may have been regional finals (although they were first round games), but I'm not sure.
