As bad of officiating as I’ve ever seen in a game. That crew was an embarrassment to the state! Big game for the Birds D. They just keep grinding! 33 for AC was as advertised, but virtually no offense other than him.

Why did they have 5 officials and not 7 required for playoffs?

I don’t know for a fact but they might not of had enough eligible. To be part of a seven man crew in the playoffs you must officiate in at least two seven man crew games during the season.

My favorite was when Anderson threw that long pass late in the game there was a jersey stretching hold out in the open that went uncalled. If you’re a ref and feel like you want to contribute to a games story and call every hold do it consistently.

My personal favorite was Nate Roberts catching about a 25 yard ball 5 yards in bounds (with the ref right on the sideline calling a good catch. The back judge from the opposite side of the field comes over and rules incomplete.

Yeah that was one of many for that fella. Hey, We saw what we saw and for the people from outside looking in are probably saying stop whining, at the end of the day Birds won.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. As I said to the dad of a player this week, I better have something falling off for me not to play in a playoff game where my season could end.

 

As for the officiating, that 5 man crew needed at least 7 or maybe 8 to cover the game. The two guys in the middle of the field simply have no business refereeing a second round playoff game.

 

Now on to the "Team from Park Hills". It was stated to me after that game that the result will be much different the next time around.

The officials were bad but that was the reason they were in the game. This hard fought playoff game. Whoever came out the winner was going to be deserving. I know Anderson County is not the name or well-known program like Highlands is but those dudes played hard. Obviously penalties were a factor but I would rather hear about the play on the field. It was a battle in adverse field conditions. Honestly I don't believe it benefited anyone. Congrats to Highlands on the win. Also Brennan Maxberry had some success running the ball. He is not as good as Collins, but saying Collins was the only offense is misleading. Anderson ran the ball successfully, which they needed to in order to have a shot. Highlands came up big with their back against the wall, forcing some turnovers.

As a team, Anderson County finished with 244 yards rushing. Collins with 199.
