4A playoffs....

Featured Replies

Let's not overlook anyone! As always one game at a time. Stay focused and play our game.

Predicting is only predicting, not overlooking anyone, ever!

The most attractive games for the 4A playoffs look to take place before the state title game:

St. X vs. Male (Round 2)

St. X/Male winner vs. Trinity/Ballard winner (Round 3)

Louisville Region winner vs. Lexington/Central KY Region winner (Round 4)

Nothing against Western or Northern KY 4A teams, but most people are going to say whoever wins the semi game between the Louisville and Lexington teams is going to win the State Title. I would have to think the crowd will be way down for the 4A title game this year.

Not bold really. They have already defeated CC once this year, correct?

He said that Ryle would be in the finals. That was the bold statement.

At the start of the playoffs, I would have picked Warren Central and Ryle to meet in the semifinals, so it's not a huge stretch to say Ryle could be in the finals.

Henry Clay won a 4-A Title in 1981.

I think Ryle is the best 4a team in NKy so it wouldn't be a stretch..Whoever comes out of NKy and WKy areas should make for a very good semifinal game

I believe this flatters the Lexington region. Nothing against the Lexington 4A teams, but most people are going to say whoever wins the third region game between the Louisville teams is going to win the title. As they always do.

IMO, if the Lexington team upsets the Louisville team, then it's just as likley the NKY or WKY team would win.

That's a bold prediction, but I don't see them getting past CC.

I'm wrong.

I'm wrong.

Way to man up. Nice...

Meade County has also been to the finals before, 1991 3A loss to Bell County, not saying they'll be in it but you never know, they are playin pretty good ball right now. I'd have to say I think any of the 4 teams left on that side of the bracket can make it. My head says it'll probably be a Warren Central or Henderson Vs. Male final, but my heart wants to say Meade can make it. Either way I don't think it'll be much of a final game, but I always like to see those top dogs get knocked off. I do think that the Lexington/Louisville semi-final game is shaping up to be a pretty good one, with Henry Clay having two impressive playoffs wins so far. If they can knock somebody off then this could the first non-Louisville championship since Nelson County defeated Dunbar for the Title back in '96. Correct me if I am here.
