The Boyle County Rebels (8-0) are coming off a dominating performance of Lexington Catholic winning 40-14. Western Hills (6-2) finally put away Garrard County to win their matchup last week 42-34. Will Boyle County be able to contain Wandale Robinson? Does Western Hills have enough fire power to upset the Rebels? Who wins? Why?

All Boyle has to do is contain Wandale Robinson. In 2016 Wandale ran 18 times for 220 yards and 3 TDS agains Boyle, 64-21 Boyle in that one. In 2017 he ran 11 times for 19 yards and caught 3 passes for 56 yards and 1 TD in the regular season game in a 71-14 losing effort. Then in the playoff Boyle won 62-14 with Wandale running the ball 7 time for 19 yards and 3 catches for 58 yards. But in the playoff game he did run a kickoff back for a TD.

Plenty of Power5 D1 talent on the field this Friday in Frankfort.

I have had the good fortune of watching these two groups of young men compete for 6 years now. From the middle school slober knockers to the somewhat one sided but still exciting games of the last few seasons. Western Hills has always played with passion and drive even with a half of the kids that Boyle regularly has on the sideline.

 

Both squads are blessed with prime time talent and the big play potential in this game will be high for both teams. In what could be his last game against the Rebels I'm sure Wandale will play wide open. One man wont be enough though and a running clock is a real possibility for Boyle.

With the weather forecast this game could be interesting with field conditions...

Truly a mismatch as far as the two teams are concerned, but a great opportunity to watch some great high school talent. There will be several college coaches in the stands. There are other players at Boyle now creating interest among the scouts in addition to Landen, Reese and Wilson Kelly. Of course everyone will have their eyes on Wandale on every play. Hope the weather cooperates. I also think that the offensive line deserves a shout out for the job they did at Lex Cath and also Reed Lanter had a very good game that might have been overlooked. Boyle should win handily.
