After 7 weeks of football, can anyone beat the King of the hill?

Alabama defense is very suspect and the offense hasn't been challenged yet. No one has got to Tua and rattled him. I'm not sure which teams are set to both get after the defense and challenge the offense, but I think Ohio State for one can run with them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if LSU playing at home at night didn't give them all they can handle, at least for a while. I just don't think LSU has enough offense to win unless Alabama helps them with turnovers and short fields.

 

LSU and Ohio State are the two teams that I see that are capable of beating them as of right now, half way through the season.

The defense. Bama would torch OSU’s defense right now. That may not be the case in December, though.

1) You have to have a QB capable of making big plays with his arm downfield

2) You have to have the talent to matchup with Bama

3) You have to have to multiple dudes in the trenches that will be playing on Sundays

4) You have to have an elite coach

 

3 Teams check all 4 boxes: Ohio State, Clemson, and Georgia

 

2 Teams check 3/4 boxes are lacking the elite coach: Notre Dame and LSU.

 

None of these teams can beat Bama right now, but do possess the potential.

Agree. I would not be surprised in the least to see any of those three teams beat Alabama come playoff time.

My team is Bama. I'm very confident in saying tOSU, LSU, and Clemson would give Bama all they want and then some. Injuries have caught up to the offense, and if Tua doesn't get very healthy soon, LSU will be a problem.

Sounds right but they also lost to Florida. I thought Georgia was the only real threat. I feel like Bama is pretty far ahead of everyone right now, assuming Tua is healthy.

It helps, but you aren’t going to out athlete Bama. Being able to test their secondary in man coverage, is essential. I’m having a hard time thinking of a team that has beaten Bama who didn’t have a strong armed QB.

It's hard to find one that didn't have a somewhat mobile one too. Pocket QBs are what they are built to attack. Johnny Football and Watson both beat them with arm and legs. If Auburn has had mobile enough quarterbacks when they have won.
