Massillon (OH) 101 Sun Valley (PA) 6

Featured Replies

They only had two passing TD’s in the first half. I have zero issue with this.

SV (PA) only had 37 players and lost their three best in the first half. Only thing Massillon could have done was take knees.

This should never happen. No excuse for scoring that many points against an overwhelmed team. No class.

Anyone know anything about Sun Valley (PA)? Should they even being playing in this game?

Playoff team last year, Massillon could not find anyone wanting to play in week 8 this year, SV was one of the few teams that called.

What should the winning team have done,

outside of taking knees?

Looks like they passed for a 43 yard TD at the end of the 2nd qt with only :17 sec while already leading 66-6.

Stats don't tell the whole story, though. This could've been a simple 5 yard out route where the corner missed the tackle and the guy runs down the sideline for 38 more yards. Doesn't necessarily mean they chucked it downfield in a hail Mary type of play.

Yea but :17 seconds left up 66-6 just take a knee and go to the locker room.

I agree, I also think just repeatedly taking knees is more embarrassing than playing 3rd, 4th or 5th stringers and letting them just run the ball.

Absolutely.

Paul Brown used to be the coach at Massillon. Pronounced Mass'-lun, btw. I went to a game there vs. Canton McKinley Bulldogs many, many moons ago and they had an actual immature tiger on a leash and they would get it to growl into a microphone.

I cannot recall who won that game. You can tell what impressed me the most. I was just a youngin'.

The Massillon-McKinley game is the high school equivalent of OSU-Michigan. Unreal. Usually 15-20,000 there for the game.
