....and CC cheerleaders (sorry I forgot you girls)!

An incredible night of high school football. Reminded me of a great heavyweight fight...15 Rounds of non-stop action! :fight:

Congratulations to Coach Styer, his coaching staff, the players, team managers, and the person that keeps 'em all patched up (Angie Lambert)!

The Fighting Camel Caravan (the fans) and CC "Band of Pride" were out in full force packing the Visitor's stands and doing their part...Awesome job!

Classic game in a great high school football environment!

The Rebels are (and will always be) a formidable opponent. Congratulations to Coach Thompson and his team on a great season! :thumb:

Camel Nation in full force! More purple there than powder blue. Boone has a great program and should be proud, it just wasn't their year.

What happened in the 2nd qtr on a bad snap when CC was punting from the end zone? The announcers said a flag was thrown then it was waved off and they replayed the down. Why?

High snap to the punter, ball hits the punter in the hand and bounces off the cross bar. Then the ball bounces out in front of the punter and he kicks it off the ground. Wouldn't this be a field goal attempt? And if it was would the ball be spotted where it lands or where it was snapped from? The ball hitting the crossbar should have meant dead ball, safety for the rebels. Instead a flag is thrown, so most of the fans were thinking maybe an illegal touch by the punter for stepping out of bounds and back in. Instead the flag is waved off, none of the 5 or 6 refs saw the ball hit the crossbar and they REPLAY the down!!!! Will someone out there who is an official please tell me what situation in the rule book constitutes a REPLAY. I have never heard or seen such a thing.

Big win Camels....they haven't been this far since 1994 right?

I did not see it hit the crossbar, are you sure about that? Was a strange play but then the officials had a bad night from what I saw....bad spots, let several big pass interferences go on Boone but called a big pass interference on what appeared to be a good defensive play. The defender's hands were all over Griffin while the ball was in the air with no attempt to go after the ball but no flag. I thought that was questionable but then to tag the Camels with that penalty when he reached over the receiver and tapped away the ball with little if no contact. Let's call it both ways in a game like this. And the clock situation in the final seconds. That clock should have started as soon as it was set and some if not all of the 2 sec left should have expired on the play where the QB downed the snap. Not to start at all! Oh well, just glad the game was not decided on that, overtime allowed both teams to win it or loss it on their own without the officials or clock keeper influencing the game.

I listened to the radio broadcast and they did not mention anything about the snap hitting the crossbar. If it did indeed hit the crossbar, it would be a safety. If it did not hit the crossbar and the punter kicked the ball while the all was on the ground, that , too, would be a safety since it is a penalty to kick the ball while its on the ground (assuming its not a drop kick) and the penalty happened in the end zone.

So, was it replayed because of an inadvertant whistle? Those potential 2 points were crucial.

The ball did not hit the crossbar; the punter stopped it with his right hand; he then kicked it off the ground; I have no idea why the play needed to be redone, but the second punt went about 15 yards farther, so the rekick ultimately helped Campbell Co.

Does the fact that 3 Ryle varsity coaches were on that team add any fuel to the fire next week?

No offense to the WR playing QB for Dixie but most would agree that Ryle will see a "different" passing attack next week than they saw tonight.

I was just thinking that . The middle was open all night long on Ryle and I think CC will take full advantage of this . CC has a very good passing game !

Well, i know we are both biased but from sitting on the side of the field when the pass interference was called on the camels; the defender made contact with Farris before the ball was touched. The clock does start when the ball is set, but for the ball to be considered set the ref must blow the whistle to start the clock and as soon as he did the ball was spiked maybe a second should have run off but not two. It really doesn't matter either way because the field goal was missed. I was real disappointed in seeing that the boone kicker made no attempt to prepare for his kick on the sideline. There was no stretching or warm up kicks and in that cold he should have been active.

Most definitely.

Where will the CCHS-Ryle game be played at next week, I might try to go up to see it.
