It was a first down and the clock stops, but when the ball is set the clock is suppose to start. The ball was set and the clock was not started. BC has 4 seconds they should not have had.

 

The officials decide when to move the chains and when to start the clock. That is why the clock was not started. It happens every first down, not just at the end of a game.

I don't remember who we played either year, but we had our 1st playoff win in 94, then in 97 we won in Lexington (Bryan Station I believe). I'll check tomorrow and find out who we beat.

I'm thinking 94 was at home (Henry Clay is my "guess".

1994 - Campbell beat South Laurel at Campbell, Henry Clay at Campbell and lost at Boone County 30-21.

 

1997 - they did win at Tates Creek 14-12 and lost to Boone 28-6 in the second round.

Middle Screen to Tim Turner, (man to man with Alexander covering) picked off... ball game. I was on the sideline as a sophomore at CC. Coach Styer looked at me and said, "HENRY," I couldn't imagine going in. I went up to him, he ripped my mouthpiece out, handed it to Jim Ahsman(sp) and said, "Get back in there!"

In the playoff game I helped him lift his shoulder above his head before the doctors/trainers did. He was tough!!!!

Final word in, the goal would not have counted even if they made the field goal. The refs motioned to start the clock and it was not started. This was from the head ref.
