Wow... this team has come a LONG way... :thumb:

I got to hand it to the good guys (Coaches and players). It was a good game plan and it was executed extraordinarily well.

There was nothing finesse about the offense tonight. It was I-formation bringing power football. When the defense began cheating to pack it in, the Cats would run the toss sweep and the occasional jet from the slot or wing. It resulted in Prestonsburg chewing up yardage and spitting out clock all night.

The defense was very, very good. Two three and outs to begin the night set the game's tone. P-burg did NOT crowd the LOS and played straight up. The secondary covered and tackled well while the pass rush brought good pressure. Simply put...the Cards were contained all night.

I have to ask of you Belfry folks... Did you all think the announcer had the score reversed when the P-burg/SC halftime score was announced at CAM tonight ??

:sssh:

So...

Prestonsburg vs. Belfry in the 2A Tourney. Sanity has returned to world and all is as it was and should be.

You all can expect a better game at CAM next Friday than whatever that was 5 weeks ago.

I do expect a better game, and I hope the "B" factor plays into the equation.:D

OH YEAH...THE "B" Factor (although it let us down last year)

Great win for the Blackcats and I can't wait for the usual matchup between the 2 programs.

Since Mr. Phillips kept the game updated after every score it took a little shock value off of it.. but nonetheless a 35-6 score definatelty was surprising.

Pburg definately should have the mental advantage coming into the next matchup with Belfry. In meeting #1 Belfry absolutely and positively controlled every aspect of the game.. and the consensus amongst the Pond Creek Nation was an expected revenge game against SC.... Belfry has not only now got to avoid the mental roadblock of having to play Pburg a team they dominated.. but now must overcome the obvious disparity of emotional levels from Belfry coasting past Shelby Valley and Pburg beign at the height of their emotions.

This game scares me as it is a true "trap game" for the Pirates.

Talent-wise I feel Belfry is 4-5 TD better than Pburg this year... but... that may not mean a hill of beans come Friday.

A little advice for Pburg.... you have the mental edge.. DO NOT PROVOKE BELFRY... those "Blitz Belfry" shirts? Bad idea IMO... I would avoid all trash talk and try not to wake the sleepign giant.:thumb:

So... you guys are "sleepign" ?!?

Is that anything like a Sleestack?

Belfry will name the score in this one, SC forgot about this game for some reason. Most folks are talking about the new re-alignment- P-burg has a cake walk in the district after this year. No more Belfry matchups unless the teams need a game. 2a championship prediction- Mercer Co. in a embarassment to the rest of the state.

Belfry will name the score in this one,

I must be missing something here or somebody else is. How is Belfry going to name the score of a game between 2 other teams, especially since it's already been played?

Huh ??

I'm gonna go ahead and open a Prestonsburg/Belfry thread (if it hasn't been done). We're getting away from the SC game...

Sounds like a good idea.

 That's good toots! :thumb:

It was announced after the game...

Coach John Derossett reached the 100 win milestone with this Prestonsburg victory.

Congratulations, Coach !!!
