Prestonsburg dominated every facet of the game....was never close. Now its on to pond creek for hopefully another classic...

Awesome win by the Blackcats. Not many thought they could do it again but they proved a lot of people wrong. Its really a fitting end to the Belfry/P-burg rivalry. One more time in the playoffs for the district championship. The closing chapter in a series of memorable games. Good Luck next week to both teams.

Not really suprised by this one.

Not really suprised by this one.

Me either... Sheldon Clark got the big head after they beat Belfry in OT, and they thought they just had to show up.. way to go Pburg, maybe SC will learn from this and realize that it takes a compelte game every week and not to overlook teams, that why thier score was so close with Pike Central and Magoffin! Way to go Blackcats.. cant wait to see ya next week.. it is truly only fitting our series will end in the playoffs!

Way to go Blackcats. I will admit that I was pulling for Sheldon Clark but I will enjoy watching another battle between the Pirates and the Blackcats with the winner playing for the Regional Championship. All of Pond Creek understands what is at stake and trust me everyone, the football team, coaches, and fans, will be ready when you walk on our field next Friday night.

Again great win tonight, can wait to see you next week.:thumb:

Go Pirates!!!!

Didn't expect a thumping like this...

Congrats P-Burg

I have been out of the loop - why is this the closing chapter?

????

I'm assuming it will close the chapter because they will be in different classes when we go to 6 of them next year. Congrats to the Blackcats on a good win. Good luck to both teams at Belfry!

Sorry about the previous post.

I was suprised with the outcome of the first game with P'burg winning in OT. I also thought that Sheldon Clark would come out and play inspired ball tonight.

P'burg proved tonight that they are the better team.

Good Luck to the BlackCats

Correct. :thumb:

This has the possibility to be a repeat of the 2000 football season for P-burg! The last year of the Pit!!! That was a team that came together at the right time just like this team is doing!!! The 2000 version of the Blackcats made it all the way to the state semi's and lost to Boyle County.

Possible but I believe that team was much more talented than this years team. They are playing their best ball right now and beating Belfry doesnt seem as far fetched as it did some 5-6 weeks ago.

Congrats Blackcats. Now a matchup with Coach Haywood.

Stark contrast to 1982 when Haywood was coaching on my side of the field (P-Burg's that is). Good luck next week Cats.
