October 31, 200619 yr I just don't understand how they would be better than a one loss Florida or Michigan. Because I just don't think the computers are going to pick a 1-loss team over an undefeated...That's JMO.
October 31, 200619 yr I just don't understand how they would be better than a one loss Florida or Michigan.Florida is not a better team than Louisville.
October 31, 200619 yr Because I just don't think the computers are going to pick a 1-loss team over an undefeated...That's JMO. He said they will have proven to be one of the top two teams...
October 31, 200619 yr As solid as yours. You were the one who said that they would have proven to be one of the top 2 teams. Tell me what makes them better than Florida, Michigan or Ohio State....
October 31, 200619 yr You are correct in one regard: you cannot assume anything. By your logic, all undefeated teams should be ranked in the #1 spot regardless of their ability to compete. I would think you would agree that the fact that Boise State (undefeated) is no where near the #1 spot would show that while you cannot assume anything, you can certainly use your God-given brain to make a logical choice. LOL, what? Don't know how you got that, you must have applied faulty logic to my logic. I said UL as an undefeated #3, not any undefeated team. And I will use my God-given brain to make a choice, rather than go by a number a computer formula spits out, which you pointed out will be changed (so it must be flawed now) if a BEAST team gets into the NC game. You seem to be under the assumption that most people think OSU and Michigan are without a doubt the top two teams, which is not correct. The voting is very close. More AP voters (2) already think Michigan is the #1 team than think Michigan is (0). Anyway the polls are very close. The loser of the Michigan/OSU game will almost certainly be jumped by an undefeated #3 in the polls where humans vote. What that does to some computer program I don't know, but it's inevitable the computer program will be changed when it yields a bogus result, which will happen at some point. Regardless, most rational humans would agree that an undefeated, third ranked team deserves a title shot over a once-beaten team that has already had a shot at the other team in the championship game, and lost.
October 31, 200619 yr You were the one who said that they would have proven to be one of the top 2 teams. Tell me what makes them better than Florida, Michigan or Ohio State....I didn't say Michigan or Ohio State. I think both those teams would be more than Louisville could handle. I however don't see Florida in the same manner. I would take the Cards over Florida in a head to head simply by watching the play on the field. Florida has been overrated by beating overrated competition.
October 31, 200619 yr IMO its going to take many voters in all of the polls making a conscientious decision to drop the loser of the OSU/Mich game considerably in order for the BCS formula not to spit out a rematch. Which they will, especially if it is Michigan.
October 31, 200619 yr tO$U and Michigan are the best two teams in the country. That's just the way it is. The rematch is looking more and more likely by the week and as long as their is no blowout, regardless which way it goes, I think we see that happen. I do not think it will happen, nor do I believe that it should.
October 31, 200619 yr I do not think it will happen, nor do I believe that it should. You don't think the two best teams in the land should play for the title. Classic...
October 31, 200619 yr Florida is not a better team than Louisville. People think I am crazy but, I agree....If UL wouldn't turn the ball over against Florida they beat, seriously.
October 31, 200619 yr You were the one who said that they would have proven to be one of the top 2 teams. Tell me what makes them better than Florida, Michigan or Ohio State.... IFF U of L goes undefeated, what will have maken Michigan's or Florida's argument as 1-loss teams better?
October 31, 200619 yr IFF U of L goes undefeated, what will have maken Michigan's or Florida's argument as 1-loss teams better? What about tO$U???
October 31, 200619 yr Regardless, most rational humans would agree that an undefeated, third ranked team deserves a title shot over a once-beaten team that has already had a shot at the other team in the championship game, and lost. I don't understand why this is such a hard concept to grasp....if it were any other team, or any other conference people would concede....but in this realm they won't. If U of Lgoes undefeated I feel confident they will be in the NC game, that's why I really don't worry about the bantor.
