Pulaski Southwestern?

Featured Replies

They could very easily make a long run into the playoffs. But with the legacy that Boyle carries into each an every game it could be a short season for the warriors.

It's true that Southwestern's playoff record is not good, but I'm thinking they may have chased their Boyle demons with their convincing win this season. Boyle might still beat 'em, but I doubt Southwestern views Boyle quite the same way as in years past.

That view of the Rebels could nip them in the but. You never know during the play offs

Southwestern seems to always choke come playoff time. I hope this year all that changes.

No, Southwestern will not choke, they will win this Friday night to set up with a rematch with Boyle, that if Boyle wins their game with Marion Co.;)

Realistically, general, does it matter? The marquee out front should read "First Round Football Loss" or "District Basketball Choke!"

Wait a minute, did a Garrard County fan just write that?!:D

What is Garrard Co. record this year, oh yea. it's 2-8 and backing into the 2A playoffs without a district win. At lease Southwestern has to win a couple of district games to make the playoffs. Southwestern has been finishing second in the district behind Boyle Co. and they finsihed 3rd behind Pulaski Co. and Boyle the year before. It wasn't like Southwestern was losing to just anyone they were losing to a team bound for the state championship game. Finishing second and third in district means a ton ask the Highlands fans if they would have rather have finished first or in second this season. If you want to compare records and district wins let's compare and even playoffs win if you want. Thing is we've had the State Championship winner and runner up for two years and runner up regional team in our district for the last four years. If you don't think it'd tough playing in Boyle Co. you should get them or Danville on your schedule next season and you will see how tough it is to get out of Title Town with a W. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs it's been afun year and you just never know come playoff time.

Boyle Co. has been SW's major stumbling block to a district title the last few years. However, it hasn't been the Rebels that have been eliminating the Warriors from the playoffs. They have consistantly lost in the first and second round of the playoffs whether they have been the higher or lower seed. When they've been a lower seed it was expected but when they've been the higher seed there has always been some kind of special circumstances (according to the Warrior faithful) even when they lost as a number 1 seed against a number 4 seed. They've lost more than one first round game on their home field. SW has put together consistantly good regular seasons and play top notch competition in their pre-district games. However, the Warrior Nation likes to include their team in the upper-echelon when they mention programs across the state--until they get past the 2nd week of the playoffs, these visions are simply delusional. This could be the year they finally get past the 2nd round but if you're going to be a state power you should at least win 1 regional title first. :thumb:

I know of noone in the WarriorNation FAITHFUL that has ever put our team in the "upper-echelon" as you call it. We are proud of our team, our boys and most of all, our coach. They work hard, they play hard, and they learn more than just football. Too bad other schools can't say the same. And also too bad our path isn't as easy as your team's path year in and year out. I think that makes a difference. We never shy away from competition, and oh yeah, beat your team this year. Let's just let the teams play, do their best and be proud of the young men they will become.

GO WARRIORS!!! BEAT PULASKI - AGAIN!

I don't understand this comment?

See WarriorPrincess comments :ylsuper:

They are listed as Southwestern... But look what their buses say. That tells where they are from.:ylsuper:

GCHS may be referring to last year when the Warriors were defeated in the REGIONAL FINALS by Boyle Co. for a trip to the Sweet Sixteeen. SW was the 48th District Champs in Basketball last year. GCHS will have to clarify this.

????

And the public schools in Lexington have Fayette Co on the side. Nobody refers to Henry Clay as Fayette Henry Clay or Lafayette as Fayette Lafayette. What is your point.

Southwestern High School is a part of the Pulaski Co. School system. The official name is now Southwestern High School. This was done so as to eliminate any confusion between the two county high schools. We certainly hate for there to be any kind of mix up when reporting things like attendance numbers and such.

Slink thanks for clearing that up......

I wasnt sure b/c I haven't heard about GCHS doing anything?

I do remember beating them in the 1999-2000 basketball season atGC.

They had a long home winning streak or something and got blown out of the gym.

Coming to the game Friday a SW?

Are Coach Coffey and the O-line ready to take their game to a new level to make up for the recent injuries?
