Pulaski Southwestern?

Featured Replies

Slink thanks for clearing that up......

I wasnt sure b/c I haven't heard about GCHS doing anything?

I do remember beating them in the 1999-2000 basketball season atGC.

They had a long home winning streak or something and got blown out of the gym.

Coming to the game Friday a SW?

It does show you beating Garrard at Garrard that year but only 56-53--not quite a blowout. Back to the football game. How are SW's 2 injured players doing? I'm guessing they probably won't risk using them this week even if they could go but does it look like they can make it back for the 2nd round? I don't think they'll have any trouble against PC with or without them but I think they'll have to have at least one of them back to get past the Rebels (assuming they get by Marion which is not guaranteed).

There's a first for everythig. Boyle at one time had to get that monkey off their back in the 90's in the playoffs, and I see no reason why Southwestern can't do the same. Some people are putting way to much stock on the past and not the present. Southwestern beat Boyle once and they can do it again. I hope not, but they can. To the Warrior Nation, hold you head up and pay no attention to some post. Some of us in here know bologna when we see it.

Score is alot closer then game was trust me. JV played most of the 4th qtr.

Anyway back to football...

SW will be fine without them. Some others must step up.

AverageJoesGym what kind of car do you drive a “ford” perhaps?

EDIT:

Thanks Rebel for the comments you guys have a fine program over there. One thing I have noticed about the Boyle County community whether a Rebel or an AD fan people are happy for the other team.

Unlike most in Pulaski Co. Alot of the talk is just the Pulaski Co way. “Be little and/ or down others."

Instead of being happy for the community. I probably started something with this comment but truth hurts.

I'd love to see Southwestern do well in the playoffs this year. I hoped they would last year as well. I usually root for a Pulaski Co. team if they are against anyone but my team. I think this might be the year for SWHS to get over the hump. I wish you all luck and hopefully we will have two region champs in Pulaski Co. this year.

SW people have always thought everybody is against them..Get over it. And Bucknut, it was just a joke. Even though the Lexington schools didn't change their name you are correct. Nothing seems to make Southwestern people mad more than referrring that they are part of "Pulaski county". Lets face it the board of ed choked when they didn't do as the Laurels did during seperation. Maybe Pulaski will now change their name to just "Pulaski".:D

:fight:

*Boom not saying that at all just speaking the truth. I wasn't referring to just SW but anyway not going to argue.

*AverageJoesGym: I forgot who I was “speaking” to. :sssh:

Slink: better bring me one and some biscuits and Gravy too ----SOP IT UP!

Boyle Co. has been SW's major stumbling block to a district title the last few years. However, it hasn't been the Rebels that have been eliminating the Warriors from the playoffs. They have consistantly lost in the first and second round of the playoffs whether they have been the higher or lower seed. When they've been a lower seed it was expected but when they've been the higher seed there has always been some kind of special circumstances (according to the Warrior faithful) even when they lost as a number 1 seed against a number 4 seed. They've lost more than one first round game on their home field. SW has put together consistantly good regular seasons and play top notch competition in their pre-district games. However, the Warrior Nation likes to include their team in the upper-echelon when they mention programs across the state--until they get past the 2nd week of the playoffs, these visions are simply delusional. This could be the year they finally get past the 2nd round but if you're going to be a state power you should at least win 1 regional title first. :thumb:

Just wondering Joe, What does the past team/players have anything to do with this team, this season. You keep insisting to bring up past teams that players on this years team were not even a part of. Just wondering too, do you find amusement in belittleing high school students (that you have probably never met) and that work hard day in and day out to give to the game you claim to love.

I was not belittling anyone. What I said about the playoff results was completely true. An earlier SW poster pointed out that they had the state champion or runner-up in their district and that made it hard to advance in the playoffs. I was simply pointing out that it was not Boyle Co. that had been beating them in the playoffs but the teams from the other district. If you don't feel like any past teams or results are relevant there was a reference to a BASKETBALL game played 6 years ago by a SW poster so I wasn't the only one. I'm far from the only one to notice or point out SW's struggles in the playoffs. This is a different year and a different team but until one of their teams breaks through there will always be comparisons. I hope SW does make it to the regional finals or even wins it but until they do so I don't feel like their program is at the level that many people perceive it to be.

I post about a BASKETBALL game 6 years ago b/c a GCHS fan was talking about baseketball for some reason. He made a comment I didn't understand and I made reference to it with a fact.

I didn't mean that you had done anything wrong 2000, I was just saying if they wanted to criticize me for bring up past teams that other people were doing it too. I can understand where you were coming from on that point, it was kind of a bizarre post you were responding to. Sometimes those Lions can be a pesky lot, perhaps you could use some D"DT" to get rid of them. ;)

Well I am sure Coach Anderson will have the boys over at the reservation very prepared for PC, even despite the injuries. As for the SW Boyle rematch everyone is speaking of. TAKE IT ONE GAME AT A TIME. And hopefully there will be a thread on that game come Monday morning.

Hmmm a little defensive? I think this thread needs to be closed. The thread was started asking people how far they think SWHS will go and it has strayed way off course since then. Good luck to SWHS in the playoffs and hopefully if you win region this year then you won't be so defensive next year when someone says something about your team:cool:

Oh I know that and I was defending my reason for the post no harm done.

Now now don't be throwing names around.. I will have to get Mr. Kerr on you! haha
