ThrillVille Cardinal51
Gotta keep a couple roasts and put it in a crockpot with some taters and carrots . Come home to that after it cooking all day . That’s eating right there . I kept 4 roasts, the tenderloins, cut up the back straps into chops, then ground the rest. Freezer is absolutely stuffed! ThrillVille Cardinal51
We used to grind up most of ours but recently have been doing a lot of chops/steaks. The breakfast sausage is very expensive to make. Had some chops the other night we used in a stew. Soaked them in milk over night and couldn't tell the difference between them and the beef in the pot. I made the breakfast sausage by grinding one pound of bacon with 3 pounds of venison, then adding a bunch of spices. It tastes pretty good! I also made a crap load of goetta as well. It turned out pretty good as well.

dd734
I just picked up one of these today. https://www.dunhamssports.com/product/cva-optima-bp-gun-package/ Were you using a muzzleloader? I’m asking because I’m really wanting one, so I’d take any advice and reccomendations!
Mustang
Got to my spot at 7:10 Saturday morning. 7:20 the hunt was over. First of all I am thrilled to see that you are able to get out and do some hunting, and then to bag a major league buck, has to be icing on the cake. Thanks Mustang, finally getting a 4 wheeler has made it much, much easier to get in and out of the field. I still hate the fact I have to call someone to help me when I take one. NKYknowitall
After 3 days of sitting all day and seeing nothing I took the day off to stay home and hang out with my daughter today.
woodsrider
We saw very few deer Saturday and Sunday. Just a handful of does and a few small bucks. We typically always see a good number of does. My guess is the mature bucks are all locked down with does. Hopefully they will be up and about this weekend.
