I don't put much stock into it. The majority of those people just hope Trinity loses, so they embrace the opportunity to pick against them when they are playing a team that can actually do it.

Anyone know if the schools get any money from ESPN for the broadcast? They are making a lot of money from the advertising and should share some of the pie.

I am not sure I agree, that is a lot of free exposure for both schools and worth tens of thousands of dollars in advertising for them.

I actually found in old article where it said ESPN paid some Alabama schools a rights fee of 1,000 in 2016. Not sure if that has increased or not in last couple of years.

I think it is only fair that ESPN throws some money at the schools because a lot of work needs to be done to accommodate the worldwide leader in sports.

I could be wrong but I think one reason Trinity has had the opportunity to play on ESPN a couple times is the ease they have setting up at Marshall Stadium.

Yes. I don’t like it either.... I like the green plus I think having “outs” is for up and comers not established programs.

 

However, it’s about the kids. If they love it then more power to them.
