I'm torn, my initial vote on the poll was for Warren Central, after having 5 minutes to digest, I am now thinking T wins in a shootout 38-35.

Obviously I wasn't at this game. Didn't sound like T handed anything to anybody. Sounded more like Carmel's D line was getting the best of T's O line. According to some, T's QB was pressured all night. That could be the reason for the T's turnovers. I always pull for the KY teams against out of state opponents, but to me Carmel played better on this particular night. It seems that most seasons T has problems covering the long ball. Didn't Carmel score the last touchdown on a quick slant for big yardage? How does T correct the problem of giving up the long ball?

 

Again, I smile at the notion that Trinity's D was bad. They allowed 210 yards of total offense and the box score I saw, I counted 10 three and outs by Carmel's O.

 

I'd say Carmel will be better coached but WC has much better athletes. Will be a good one.

T will have their hands full with WC. Hopefully home field advantage will make a difference.

Polls really don't matter. A Brohm led team started out 0-4 one year and still won the state title. This team has many young players. They will improve as the season goes on as all Beatty teams do. Rocks play the best to be the best. Losing to some great out of state teams is not a bad thing.

Trinity will have to play alert, disciplined football. I'm concerned with WC's speed and that one misstep by Trinity on defense could result in a TD. I do expect T's QB to improve considerably (e.g., no backwards passes returned for a touchdown). I have a feeling Herron (DL/OLB) will have a good game for T....maybe he can disrupt WC"s offense some. I hope T's offense can put up enough points up to win.

Exactly. I don't think people get that, mostly because they dislike Trinity/Louisville. A Trinity team could start 0-5, and finish the season as 10-5 State Champions with little to no resistance from a KY team. Not saying that will be the case this year, but T's success out of state usually has little to do with how their in-state season goes.

Yes then payback to Male and X in the playoffs. That one was sweet, but we digress.

Gonna be tough tomorrow. A win would be huge for the Rocks. This will be the best team we see this year. Hope we can contain all their athletes.

Coach Beatty used to divide the season into three segments. -- pre-district, district and playoffs, with the hope that the 3rd segment will be 5 games long.

Hopefully I get over that way early enough to grab some Lonnie's before I go in.
