Cincinnati Police Officer Tases 11 Year Old Girl

Deters is a donkey hat, what more do you expect.

The irony.

I don't have an issue with the use of a taser in that situation.

I'm still pondering. At first glance I thought it was inappropriate but after hearing about other concerns regarding physically detaining her I'm now unsure. Seems like he was put between a rock and a hard place, of course that's probably a daily occurrence for law enforcement.

Although I am not outraged by this, I would think there had to be a better way to stop her. At least this is better than using a gun and shooting her. We probably don't have all the info because it sounds like he asked her to stop, she didn't, he tazed. That seems pretty quick, but maybe there was more.

In regards to the idea that he couldn't grab her or physically detain her... There are plenty of cameras in Kroger. He could have detained her physically and there would have been video evidence of whether or not he went too far. Just because she may have bruises doesn't necessarily mean he would have done something inappropriate.

It is why many companies' policies are to let intruders go. I know a guy that works at a bakery in a grocery store. A guy was in the midst of stealing items as my baker acquaintance was reporting to work. As the intruder was getting away, instinctively the baker tried to shield him from getting out of the store, the perp fought through him and got away. The policy of the story is to let any shoplifter get away, so the employee was suspended two days without pay.

Kroger will pay off quickly. That will just reinforce what she did.

Agreed.

Maybe the cop should have followed her home and arrested the mom for recieving stolen property.

Then the kid can go to foster care away from mommy and maybe learn what she did has consequences.
