..HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT MONDAY...

* HEAT INDEX...Afternoon values will top out from 100 to 105

degrees through Monday. Little relief is expected at night.

* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high

humidity will lead to an increased risk of heat related stress

and illness. The very young, the elderly, those without air

conditioning, and those participating in strenuous outdoor

activities will be the most susceptible. Also, car interiors

can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When

possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or

evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat

stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when

possible and drink plenty of water. Make sure outdoor pets have

plenty of shade and fresh water.

I'm sitting outside on the deck at 11:18 pm, it is so uncomfortably warm.

Very hot the last 2 days.

We skipped spring. Went from sweatshirts to sweating

It's flippin miserable.

Yep. The drive home sucks with no AC in the car. Have I mentioned I hate Summer? :lol2:

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Heat index values will be around 100

degrees, due to temperatures in the lower 90s, and dewpoints in

the lower 70s.

* TIMING...Heat index values will be highest through 8 PM.

* IMPACTS...Heat stroke, heat exhaustion and other heat related

illnesses will be possible, especially if you spend a

significant amount of time outdoors, or are involved in any

strenuous outdoor activity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Reduce outdoor activities, especially from mid-morning through

the afternoon. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and

drink plenty of water. If possible, spend more time in air

conditioned or well ventilated places.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the Occupational Safety and

Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks

in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by

heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke

is an emergency, Call 911.

So what you are saying is that golf will be hot tonight?

I was just getting ready to complain that my car's air conditioner chose to go out on the hottest day of the year. But a friend of mine recharged the system and I'm now good to go...and I feel guilty because you always have to deal with this!

I work outside for a living so I'm used to the heat and know how to hydrate properly. But I can't really remember anytime in recent years where it was this hot in mid June. I checked my phone weather app at 2:30 and it was 94 with a heat index of 105. We went ahead and decided to call it a day and will go in an hour early tomorrow.

Thanks! Glad you got yours fixed! My car is just too old to fix it, wouldn't be cost effective.
